Hello everyone, I am a new WOW player who couldnt pass up the whole Worgen draw to cataclysm.  I have picked to play as a Hunter so I can solo and learn the game.  I am currently level 20 and at a point where I should know more than I do :).  I have stuck with my mastiff to this point.  But I am curious what pet would be best.  I was after a wolf but I see I should have a pet bear instead for a tank pet?  My second and most migrane induceing question.  I am going or have gone into the Beast Mastery talent tree.  Does anyone have any specs I think they are called to what I should invest my points in to make the best solo or PVE build?  Lastly my last noob question, I see I have to build a tree for my pet as well, anyone have a build for my bear pet that would maximize his ability to be a hold aggro/good tank build.  Thanks for everyones feedback and if you see BillyJR running around with his pet Boris on the Thunderclap I think it was newbie server say hi 🙂

BillyJR,

Up through level 20, which pet you use doesn't matter so much. Pets don't get access to their family defining talents until level 20, so no big deal that you've kept your Mastiff. A bear is a good choice for leveling, but anything from the Tenacity tree would be fine. These pets all have increased threat generation talents, are hardier, and all have access to Thunderstomp, which is great for maintaining threat with multiple mobs.

This is how I'd suggest allocating your first 7 points: http://www.wowhead.com/petcalc#0Rzh0b0z

Hope that helps. 🙂
