[#448]

I know my gear isn't very good. So I am not expecting to do the same dps as those decked out in full epics. I would like some feedback as to whether I am doing an acceptable amount or not…

In random heroics I tend to do approximately 2k thats the recount average for the dungeon. Some AOE type fights it's less.

I know I sometimes fail to keep serpent up on the boss fights that could make a small difference and I am working on it.

I open by sending in the pet and then HM and SS I then KC and Arcane as long as focus > 33 ish depending on if KC is almost ready or not. I try to always be above 40 when KC is available. I also try to not use focus fire if BW is coming up. As soon as BW wears off I will pop the FF. (my pet is a wolf)

reason I am posting this is I have an alt that used to be my main in BC and is a warrior. He was prot in BC but I have some reasonably ok (for BC) fury gear. I pulled him out yesterday specced fury grabbed two 2h quest rewards and he is already doing 1.4k dps and I am not even trying. The warrior is only level 72…. There are ways I can get that higher by using his abilities more wisely with very little effort on my part.

Is the damage I am doing reasonable for BM hunters?

Am I doing something wrong?

any constructive input would be appreciated.

Hi Moon, there are a lot of others on here that can give you better advice than I can, and looking at your armory you're equipping the right gear.  As you get higher lvl gear, you'll gain more agility, and you'll see a big difference in your dps, but don't only look at dps, look at damage too.  There will be times you are top on total damage, but not top in dps.  As a new 80 before the patch, I remember doing 2k, and seeing it rise as my gear improved, I think you'll see the same thing.  I would ask you are you using any macros, you won't belive the difference that will make.  Also I have FF macro'd in to all my shots so I'm using it everytime it's available, at least for now.  Gar has a good article here that might help you.

Hi there,

I have the macros and was using them till I read somewhere that it's good to have the 4 fury stacks on your pet while he has BW up. I will have to try a run with them and see what happens.

I am typically running heroics with some friends and a few random dungeon finder people. (that is a very nice addition to the game I must say!) My friends are in ICC10 gear and I don't know about the dungeon finder people but I do know that if hp is an indicator they have ALOT better gear than I. They are typically around double my HP.

I am  way above the healer in both dps and total damage but nowhere near the top... I will have to try a test session on a training dummy to get a good idea of where I sit on a prolonged fight.

Is it possible to macro Kill Shot into all my other shots? Just so i never miss it if it comes up a hair of a second before I press the other button. I am thinking not as it's on the GCD...

It's best to wait for the 5 full Frenzy stacks. I posted the macro as an option early on for those who maybe were not utilizing the ability in the first place (sort of how Kill Command was after it was first introduced).

Anyway, most of the time you'll have the full five stacks when Focus-Fire is ready again. However, there will be times when you won't, or you don't necessarily want to steal the Frenzy from your pet (e.g., while your pet's in big red).

I used the macro for about a week, while I was adjusting to focus, assigning new keybinds, etc... After I got familiar with BM 4.0.1 I started manually activating it.

In short, it's a pretty efficient easy-mode macro for those who don't want to fuss over things too much, but it's not the best way to do it.

I'm still using the macros, but still getting used to focus too.  Sometimes I'm slow. Wink  It all seems frantic at times, so part of it learning to relax and use your abilities.
