I usually hang out at the ledge when I'm not at the Lodge 😉 Karkin spawned and I stood in disbelief as a hunter brute force attacked it and still another hunter send his core hound in. At this point, the commotion has attracted the attention of a pally and a mage(?) (who I'm sure were wondering why this green spider can kill so quickly). Fearing for Kirix's life, I set out to tame.
Taming Kirix with a Disengage approach is quite spectacular if successful. It was a success on the second try and not only did I save Karkin that day, I also enjoyed showing off a bit. 🙂

Try to Disengage at the highest point of the toss. Also make sure that Aspect of the Wild is up. I've died more with Kirix compared to the other spiders that's why he has a special place in my stable. 😉
I am not even going to try - disengage and I don't get along. 🙂
I like to disendgage near a cliff... keeps me on my toes... or flying!

lol i love disengaging in to4w al'akir encounter, especially when the tornadoes are up. 😀
That spider got my poor hunter to tears..At the end I just gave up since I'm not huge fan of spiders and noticed another hunter nearby.He managed to tame it and was happy so at lest someone got new lovelly companion 🙂 Gz on the tame indeed 🙂

You really don't have to get Kirix (or any "new" pets). One of the nicest things of being a hunter is the vast amount of pet choices.

I know.I'm just stubborn when it comes to things like this. I actually just saw him and this time managed to tame the spidy. Eventho he still managed to kill me 🙂

Kirix is on my list to tame, just to say I tamed her, mostly because I gave it a whirl and was beaten mercilessly over and over again 😛
I would likely swap my yellow spider for her as I have no plans to keep more than one or go for the others, but we'll see. My yellow friend, Grief, has grown on me.

LOL, well, like I said, Kirix & Skarr remain on my list, you never know what those taming experiences will bring! I'm thinking ahead: maybe one will be named Misery and the other Agony?
