Just in-case somebody didn't know, there's a new PVP writer at Warcraft Hunters Union, he will be convering in the future how to attack certain classes etc.
Also don't forget WoW Wiki http://www.wowwiki.com/Hunter_PvP_guide , they have good advice for other classes too.
On a side note I'm back to BM for PVP, our Arena progress sorta slumped when I switched to MM generally even though it did good burst damage I found BM was better for longer fights if something fooks up + I'm bad at LOS 😛 Sekhmet my SB though is perfect.
Sucks that you can't enchant/gem gear two ways, dual enchant/gem should be implemented for gear. Too expensive going back and fourth.
Beastial wrath is a great win over other specs in PvP of any sort. I too transferred my pvp spec from SV to BM a while ago, and I feel like I did the right thing.
Spirit Walk, Spirit Mend make the spirit beast my ultimate choice. I even specced my ghostcrawler to
Heart of the Phoenix, with given extra pet talent points, which is a good shocker for those bully warriors and DKs going after the pets first.
My opinion is it depends on the player which spec works well. I do relatively well in PvP as MM. I've been playing the spec for a long time though so I have lots of experience behind it. One of the top PvP Hunters on my server is SV. Dont get me wrong, BM is great and I know some good BM PvPers as well. I just want to point out that right now, I think all specs of Hunter are good in the right hands for PvPing.
SV is really messed up atm when it comes to PvP;
- you can't use BA or SrS on evey occasion, because their periodical ticks will break CC. And more than half of the SV talents is about buffing BA and SrS damage, which you can't benefit to full extent. Moreover BA is nerfed violently and its only purpose might be to trigger LnL, and the chance is very low to be useful in PvP.
-You end up using Arcane Shot, and starve focus most of the time. Long cast CS can not deliver great damage as MM does with their aimed shots, so it's not also helping.
-Although there's tons of trap talents, they are not reliable, 1 out of 4 traps is resisted. And their damage contribution is also not so great.
-Pet sucks. Yes after BM, one word is enough about SV pets.
-With all these deficiencies in PvP, if you still think you will do great and have fun with it, I have no more words to say.
-I really love survival spec, do not get me wrong, I still have great time in raids..

Yes it is, never said it wasnt. I was just pointing out I know an SV Hunter that does well in PvP with the spec.

I'm not an SV player. I play MM and I do well at the spec in PvP. The point of my response was to show that there are options for players and that BM isnt the "only" route to go if you like to PvP as a Hunter. If I misunderstood the point of your post, I apologize.
If only you get heals, and maybe there's also some caring melee who holds the enemy at bay, you'll deliver great burst damage from a distance both in SV and MM.
I don't mean to create tension and I get what you mean completely Takaas.
I just wished to share my own opinions derived from my personal experience as trying different specs, maybe a bit frustrated, because I really wanted to shine both in PvP and PvE with my favourite spec SV.
The big ones causing me headaches as MM right now is Warriors and Rogues. Frost Mages can be a pain in the ass if I dont trinket/masters call properly and traq their shield. Against Warriors its the constantly getting stunned and damage they do that gets me. Rogues its the self heal. For Warriors http://www.wowhead.com/spell=86346 is quite overpowered in PvP right now. Patch 4.1 will fix that though. Currently http://www.wowhead.com/spell=73651 for Rogues is bugged or something and needs fixed.

I think it was just probably we mistunderstood or misinterpretted what we were trying to convey. I dont want to make it look or sound like your input isnt as good or doesnt matter. We welcome any and all here. Thats what is so great about these forums.
On a personal level Im glad to have another PvP Hunter to discuss things with. So please keep posting your thoughts and such. Im sure there is stuff that even an "old dog" like myself might pick up.
