He can be found in the Molten Front, within the Igneous Depths.<\/p>\n<p>Solix is among the eight new <a title=\"Patch 4.2 Taming Challenges\" href=\"https:\/\/huntsmanslodge.com\/staging\/9540\/taming-challenges-in-patch-4-2\/\">Taming Challenge pets<\/a>, so he requires a little more planning and effort than the <em><a title=\"Madexx\" href=\"https:\/\/huntsmanslodge.com\/staging\/9469\/madexx\/\">drop a Freezing Trap and tame<\/a><\/em> types of pets.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nWhen first encountered, Solix has two buffs on him:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Flashfire:<\/strong> Attack Speed Increased by 1000% &amp; Movement Speed Increased by 100%<\/li>\n<li><strong>Blazing Speed:<\/strong> Too fast to Tame<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While these buffs are active, Solix obviously can&#8217;t be tamed. From what I know, the way to remove the buffs is to reduce Solix&#8217;s energy level to the point where they fall off. Apparently this is done by chilling him with Frost Traps.\u00a0Solix&#8217;s energy is replenished by the nearby lava, so it&#8217;s also important to keep him away from the magma.<\/p>\n<p>The strategy seems to involve slowing him with Concussive Shot while he wades through your Frost Traps. This removes his Blazing Speed buff, allowing you to tame him from a distance without killing him.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also worth noting that I believe he will instantly die if he gets <em>too cold<\/em>, which drops his energy level to zero, so Freezing Traps may not be the best approach.<\/p>\n<h3>Solix Preview Video<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"WoW 4.2 - New Rare Hunter Pet - Solix (Lava Spider)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/X5qKQzQ7XoU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Solix at least looks like he&#8217;s ready to party.
