Transmogrification

I am going to have some fun with this new Transmogrification thing, although I’ve only Transmogged one piece of gear so far – my ranged wep. I have a few select items that I’ve kept stashed in my bank for years…things I never use, I just can’t seem to part with them though. One such thing is my Merciless Gladiator’s Crossbow of the Phoenix. I cannot tell you how glad I am that I held onto it. 🙂

Those of you unfamiliar with the significance of this item may want to read this post from the archives. I must warn you, his story is a tear-jerker.

My transmogged crossbow does indeed look amazing, thanks to Ezra’s dazzling creativity, but being able to proudly display it…keeping his memory alive, is really what it’s all about. Gah… now I’m getting all misty just writing this.

Ezra was a member of the horde – a Tauren hunter (known as, Ephoenix) – but I’m hoping he’ll be accepting of this humble Night Elf’s respect and admiration. 😉 Peace be with you always, young Ezra.

As for the other items I wanted to use for Transmogrification… Blizz wouldn’t give me the go ahead on those. I tried to Transmogrify using my old school Rank 10 PvP set, but the guy said “no can do”. Apparently, that stuff cannot be used for Transmogrification, however… it’s my understanding that there will be a Darkmoon Faire vendor whom we’ll be able to buy replica pieces from. The catch being, he’ll only sell replicas of the pieces you actually earned back in the day. I’m hoping that’s the case, because it will make those sets very uncommon. Grinding to Rank 10 in the old honor system was probably the most taxing endeavor of my near-6-year WoW huntering tenure.

The gear itself is pretty lackluster compared to what we get now – and some might even say ‘silly looking’ – but I could care less. I earned that s**t, and I’ll be quite proud wearing it until I can obtain something else more worthy. Not to mention…the gear during that period of the game signifies a time when I probably enjoyed WoW the most. I still love the game, but I was ‘all in’ back then. In fact, I’m sure I liked the game way too much back in those days, as evidenced by my full set of PvP gear. 😉

I’ve been working tirelessly at putting together a Patch 4.3 update of my UI compilation. As of today, nothing’s broken but there are still a couple of little quirks I need to sort out. I’m a stickler for things looking as intend, and there are two addons that are not playing nicely right now. I hope to get them sorted out tomorrow, with enough follow-up time to get the download package prepared, run a couple of test installs, then have the UI update on WoWInterface sometime Friday. 😀

I noticed that my targetenemyplayer macro stopped working in PvE after this latest patch. I guess you could say it’s ‘working as intended’ now. It still works spot on in BGs, but those of you using that same one I posted a few months back in my PvP targeting article should switch to this for anything outside of BGs, world PvP and arena:

This of course is the handy-dandy, target nearest enemy, send pet on them, start attacking and toss up a Hunter’s Mark macro. This works alright for PvP as well, but /targetenemyplayer is a much better command to use as it ignores player pets.

Apart from this minor little macro hiccup, I haven’t noticed anything else goofy with my macros. I’ll have another day of play and testing, then I’ll put the Patch 4.3 approval on my macros collection.

Well those are just a few little announcements and musings I wanted to share… Now it’s time to get back to work on the UI!

HL Forum Wonkiness I discovered that the forum went glitchy today at some point.
