Abby, have you gone the OpenGL route that I copied above? That sets it back to the old engine, and Blizzard is aware that there are issues with the new water and lighting engines with the Apple platform, and it is fixing the problem for perhaps 90% of the users willing to open up the code.
The conversion has been a quiet issue for a while, and has to do with the way that the graphics is coded on the side of Apple. Apple is aware of it, and the changes are apparently in the next revision of our OS. You most likely did not have any issues in UP due to the lack of atmospheric changes requiring the new water and light filtering effects, but try and hit something like Sunwell or Steamvaults, et all, and you might have a situation.
In a nutshell, Blizzard *is* responding to Mac Users, just their release is in advance of Apple's release of the new graphics drivers. It is impossible to link two major corporations together, at the risk of delaying things. Blizzard is the only gaming company at this time, that I am aware of, that is actively working with Apple's lack of an internal gaming department, and producing code that will eventually, stretch the limits of our computing capabilities, far better than any PC I've run on.
Apple may be at 20% of consumer computer sales, but pretty sure only a small percentage of those actually play Warcraft. I'm pretty chuffed that Blizz even codes binary, and know these few days will sort themselves out.
Let me know if you went the OpenGL route and if that helps hun. It will work! This of this as just extra tape on your Christmas gift!
