So, just sharing this I suppose ^^
Was browsing petopia for some interesting pets and the Spirit Beasts got me, sure I knew about them from earlier and had seen them occasionally running around with their owners, but it just seemed near impossible to attain one.
Began doing some research on the net and found this awsome site and began reading up about locations, timers etc.
Flew to Amberpine straight after getting 74 on my neat little Troll, had NPCscan up (First time using it and I love it), began the camping at 22.00 servertime.
So sat there for several hours reading forums, books, watching machinimas and never once left the computer without raising the speakers. So I decide to go for a quick smoke, comes in and checks screen, nothing. Walks into kitchen to get some coffee and BANG alarm goes off. Adrenalinerush and was shaking like crazy when I began taming, and was laughing like a lunatic once it was finished.
08.00 in the morning, 10 hours of camping and insomnia but damn it was worth it.
So I begin to powerlevel a bit and hits 76 the same day after some hours of well earned sleep, flies off to Sholazar and begins killing the game animals, 20 minutes later I run to kill crocodiles and notice my camera is in an annoying angle, so I change it and Loque is walking just a yard away from me O_O NPCscan had him cached.
Fly quick as hell to the camp and change pet ^^ Mine! 2 in less than 24 hours
So I hit , begin to occasionally flying around Zul'drak inbetween heroics. I see Nightelf camping there and does the /Luck emote on her.
Flies off to Sholazar to farm some ore, I bump into Loque and begin yelling at the other hunter in the zone to come there quick as f***.
Karma goes and comes around :]
So in the afternoon I figure if she found Gondria it would probs respawn soon. So I make an alt and whisper, and guess? She found it 15 minutes after I left So well I fly back 6 hours later and patrolls the area for 2½ hour. Nothing.
Returns to heroics for another 6 hours, and flies around for an hour before logging off at 77.70 frustrated and goes to bed.
Next day. Wakes up, start the computer, goes to make coffee, start wow, goes fetch coffee, logs in and thinks “Maybe I'll have one of those sunshine stories you see on the Lodge” and BANG NPCscan goes off.
Beauty right below me Named her Kharma, seemed fitting.
And found Loque three times this week beside when taming him while farming ore and leather, whispered the local hunters every time to make them come tame. And then a draenei and a human warrior runs up while I have him tagged and trapped, so I panic and does /point at Loque and spams /no to the Allies. Hunter appears and we all cheer at him!
Luckily only one in the zone each time so not left anyone out ^^ Makes me fuzzy and happy to help people like that.
And saw Aotona while on a FP to Dalaran and could'nt get off, murdered before I managed coming back ;'<
Well 3 Spirit Beasts in less than a week I can be without wow happily for 2 weeks now when my sub runs out.
They are damn everywhere when you don't look! >:C

What a great story. I'm excited for Cat for when I can tame Arcturis. I sure wish that the spirit beasts took on a bit of the pet class they look like. Thank you for sharing.

I use to be a pet collector before you had to be BM for all the fancy pets. I REALLY love the look of the spirit beast, but I run MM for raid and Survi for PvP. Need triple spec ASAP! BM would be my Ironforge/Daleran spec for the pets!
Awesome luck! Way to be a great hunter comrade too, it's nice to know they are still out there!!

It's a sin to kill Spirit Beasts! *Shakes cane*
After reading up about how long some people look for them I just think it's polite to note them if you bump into something.
Had some funny reactions when some hunters freaked out “JESUS IM MM XD” while whispering ^^

It's nice having spirit beasts, myself having all but Skoll, but I can't ever decide which one to show off in the cities! It's basically the only time I bring them out since they don't do so good as far as dps, so it's like they're just collecting dust D'=
They also sure take up a lot of space, 3 of my 5 stable slots, with my raid wolf and tank corehound, I'm done taming until the expansion gets here.
CANNOT wait until cataclysm comes out with more stable slots, weeeee!
I logged into the PTR yesterday and was giddy when I saw the new expanded stable.
As far as SB's go… they may be in for an interesting redesign come Cata. They've been given a HoT as their special, which may make them somewhat desirable for BGs. I'm also willing to bet they'll receive another buff of some sort before Cata.
Core Hounds and Devilsaurs both have two specials, so I'm willing to bet all exotics will be getting one buff in addition to their special.

As a new member of the forum, it is nice to see so many interested in Spirit Beasts. I collect them and run Raids and BG's with them. I rarely have a problem with complaints in groups since I end up 1st or second in DPS in them.
I also am a guild master on Duskwood and enjoy being BM. I think people worry to much about what others think they should be and should just enjoy playing their Hunter the way they like. just 2 cents woth. Anyway seems like there are some nice people here and I set a link on my guild site to bring members here.

yeah, you definitely sound like a Lodger. Welcome, grab a beer, and have a seat by the fire.
It's nice to hear you raid in BM, as well. That's a change of pace from what I am used to.

Welcome Wolfs! That's the (ahem) spirit.
And get this. Last night I hit 77 then logged out in Dal immediately after getting Cold Weather Flying and stocking up on Frostbite Bullets. Logged in today, jumped on my Wind Rider, and took my first flight over Northrend. I was on my way to Zul'Drak via Grizzly Hills airspace when low and behold on the ground just below me, Arcturis! I was so flustered I didn't know what to do. I set a freeze trap, fumbled through my spell book, and then abandoned my pet. Yes, in that order! By the time I got around to casting TP he was already free and kicking the crap out of me. Just as I tamed him he killed me! I wasn't sure if I got him, it was soooo close! I ran back to by body, spammed my “friends” macro and out he came! Awesome.

Wow great story and lots of luck! Took me almost 2 weeks for Arcturis, went for him as soon as he came out. Lots of allys were there for him also. Made it very hard to get him.
Had several hunters in a group so we took turns helping each other. I had to help a Guildie do a group quest on my turn so of course he spawned 10 minutes after I left and a
friend got him, I was cool if I was disappointed. Any way I am sure everyone has great stories about their tames, I know I do..lol. I am by far not the greatest hunter around but I have
learned so much from this site over the last year, I want to get my hunter guildies into it. Lots of great stuff here.

I'm a low pop server and it is kinda late in the game, so maybe that had something to do with it? Either that or it was just dumb luck. It actually feels a little cheap. It's like being told unicorns don't exist, then stepping outside and seeing 10 grazing on your lawn. I almsot wish it did take me 20 hours!
I'm gonna check Grizzly Hills hills again tonight just to see if he's there again. If that's the case, it should be a breeze getting the others.
