Hi, have been reading this website for a couple weeks and have learned a lot and have enoyed it very much. I have been hunting spirit beasts for a couple years on and off but not much luck…I did tame Gondria on my wife's hunter naturally (lol). Spent a lot of hours hunting for Skoll…would spend a week or two at a time looking but no luck then would lose interest. Got very lucky today…. I found him at 5:15pm Pacific Time at coord 27,51 in the Snowdrift Plains…almost missed him just caught a flash of dark blue out of the corner of my eye and there he was….was easy to tame as I was as cool as a cucumber…uh huh right….did pretty good tho considering.

Its been an amazing week…hard to believe in fact…..got Skoll of course earlier this week..last night I got Arcturus at 1105pm coords 31,55 right on time…this morning at 1130am got Gondria at 67,77…I spent weeks trying to get Gondria after I had tamed him/her on my wife's hunter…had not hunted for this one for a very long time…moved to Zuldrak after getting the bear last night and did a chech then…back this morning and there it was……I am kinda in shock right now…..Loque-nahak is next and I have spent many hours in the past looking for him….oh well maybe my luck will hold out for a while LOL!!!! I also have Ashtail that was a pretty simple tame about 2 weeks ago…also have that spider that is here in Zuldrak while looking for Gondria last year….need to get Rivanthian working ton leveling but I am in know hurry..my wife and me are terrible at pvp so we basicly do quests and professions and a few instances now and then we are not power levelers lol.

we are not power levelers lol.
Now that just cracked me up.
I have a very large guild. Like almost 600 characters (I use the term loosely.) We have many 85's at this point, in a wide variety of classes.
1 – read it ONE – hunter.
Everyone of us is too busy taming or farming. Your comment made me laugh. Guess it goes with the class
Thanks to you all for reading and responding to my posts. NiikaI guess we hunters are a strange and different bunch….my wife for instance has 4 characters…all hunters!! Can't get her to even think about something else. I have a Paladin and Mage…but my hunter was my first character and will always be my favorite. We are much older I think than most players….I am retired but won't tell you my age…you may not beileve me lol. I have tried a lot of guilds only to be driven out by foul mouths and retarded kids…now I know all are not that way but I think possibly most are…so we stick to ourselves and so out thing….leveling is just part of the game and we take our time and work each area and spend time learning and farming and taming. I started playing online games over 10 years ago and my first game was Ultima Online…i still have an account and still have friends there but the graphics here are so amazing to us…we really enjoy the whole game…I for one am still looking for the the first Alliance player at my level that I can whip in a fair fight….not even close yet but I dont back down….at least it takes them a while to kill my pally.

Riv! That made me laugh because I'm with you in SO many points!
As for a guild, check out http://thebigbearbutt.com/ … two years ago they ran Raid for a Cure, this year it was Raid for the Heart. Pretty nice group of people at Kael-thas-US. I rolled a character there specifically because of what they're doing

I hear ya! I'm 50 and wife is nearly so. But I say to people that I may be too old to play games, but I'm still too young to care!
Power to the seniors!
Welcome to the site.

Riva, your post made me smile. Two of our most dedicated raiders are a couple of women in their late sixties; one is retiring this week and she is SO HAPPY she can fish full time for a little while, before setting off around the real world once her illness is under control. They have known each other for 40 years, twice as long as most players on Moon Guard. We had a 70th birthday party for another, and I think our full time raid leader's jaw fell when he found out her age. Another dedicated guildmate is a man who drives for Meals on Wheels, another senior. He's kind of like our go-to guy if a new person to the game needs assistance. One of our favorite raid leads is an 11-year old boy who's mom also plays. It's hilarious to hear his high-pitched voice cracking when he's leading us in a boss fight, and we all try hard not to laugh, since he's so damn determined and good. It's funny as heck that his mom uses the Bees as a disciplinary tool; if he doesn't do well in school, or he mouths off, he looses time with us. We have a *ton * of couples, both persuasions, and many parent/child relationships as well.
It's odd to think that we've created a community, a virtual village, and everyone gets along. I'm well aware of differences of opinion among many of the members (so hard NOT to have that, in a guild of this size) but everyone not only respects *each other* but the guild relationship as a whole, that the drama is just non-existant. I've heard that my partner and I run a very tight ship (one warning, zero tolerance for lack of respect, and it's rarely used), however, something must be working if we keep growing by such leaps and bounds. Our turnover rate is pretty slim and with the exception of the stupid queues on Moon Guard, have an average of 25-40 people on at any given point in time.
I am truly lucky to have met so many wonderful minds in this world.
Thanks to you Darrwyn and again to you Niika for you very nice posts. Niika your guild sounds like one I have long been in search of..I think I have been in 271 guilds (jk) at least it feels that way and not a one have I lasted more than about 3 weeks. My son dies laughing everytime he hears I have joined another guild and we bet on how long I will last (lol) funny I just joined another guild last night name Zion there are 232 members and I liked the way the GM invited me to play so I will give it a try(not going to tell my son about this one lol) Ok Ok I will tell you my age…I turned 71 on Nov 21 of this year…my wife is 67 and still as beautiful as she ever was…we have been married over 51 years and I love her just as much as the first day I laid eyes on her…it was love at first site…and its the best thing I ever did in my whole life. I got her interested in WOW about a year ago..no she is better at it than me and is my source of gold hehe..she does all the dailys every day and has had her gold total over 100k at times and none of it bought all earned…she keeps me supplied too so I have surely encouraged here gold making I mean Im not stupid here lol. She loves to do it anyway so thats a good thing lol. We played WOW just about everyday questing and farming…like I said she only plays hunters…….and is pretty darn good at it too. She has a young friend thats always getting her to do instances with them, I think she is 17 and she and my wife really have fun together…that leaves me with plenty for time fo do more manly things LOL!!!!! JK!!! Games are just not for kids….heck I play tennis about 5 times a week including league tennis and we bowl on Tuesday nights…the time to play is when your young and after you retrie…I do not feel old so why act like it?. Darrwyn you and Niika made my day…I really enjoyed both of your posts…..sure glad they keep these math questions easy lol
Regards to you both

This thread is great. I've been reading this site / forum for a while, but I don't usually do the social thing lol, so never signed up. But after reading this, and relating to so many things said, I thought, wth! So here I am..
I just recently tamed Arcturis too. I don't even want to admit to how long I camped him o_O And then two days ago, I logged in at 3:30pm, turned around, and there he was! The kids had just arrived home from school in time to witness it – it was a moment, lol. I feel kinda guilty for Grunter, who is now redundant, but the bear is just too good to hide
I also thought I was the only person over 40 playing this game – good to hear that's not the case!
Hi Grainne…..good to hear from you and gratz on taming Arcturus….luckily I read a post on here that said around 11pm pacific time he spawned much of the time trouble being everyone else knows this too so could get kinda crowded..when I logged on that evening no one was there and neither was he….then as I started to log he popped up on the screen….I am thinking most people are doing stuff in the new expansion….its the only explanation I have for the run of luck I had for about a week….anyway I know how excited you were to find him and now you have to be hooked on finding these terrific pets…..I wish you the best of luck….again was really good to hear from you!!!!

Grainne, Grunter is one of Gar's favorite pets – do NOT call him anything but the Glory of Azeroth or he'll die a little inside. I think he's even got a rant about the changes to his skin on his blog still, if you go looking. And you are not the only person over 40 to play the game. My guild is not only loaded with them, we have an equal share of women and men in guild.
I LOVE stories like this! Thanks for making my day Riv, it makes me so happy to hear about older adults who play WoW and just enjoy their lives, way to go man!!
I'll be the sappy female and say that your post, Riv, made me tear up. That is such a wonderful tribute to your wife, it's awesome. totally wish the both of you were on Moon Guard, I'd welcome you with open arms.
