As a fairly new level hunter, i've found i LOVE the heroic instances, and though i've yet to try the more large-scale raiding, i'm confident that i will find a great deal of pleasure in that as well. On this note, i've been trying to think of what kind of pet to choose, being a BM Hunter i'm looking for a sturdy enough pet, but one that can put out good DPS as well, if anyone has any good ideas i'd appreciate it! Also, ideas for the talent tree setup are vastly appreciated, as i'm still a wee bit new to this entire thing! (At level . lol) and on a related note, my BM setup is entirely that! Every point is in that tree, and i left improved aspect of the monkey untouched, as i felt when a hunter needs to be dodging hits you prolly need a new tank! At the moment i like my core hound, he seems pretty solid, but i have a feeling theres pets out there with much better family abilities ( i looked at devilsaurs in particular, but i want a second opinion. either way: They look BA lol!) Thanks!
Devilsaur is the top DPS pet for BM Hunters. It's also the pet I used when I was raiding as BM. The only problem is, unless you and your bigass Dino are bringing monster DPS to a raid or instance, some players may resent it due to it's large size. They can create targeting issues for other players by taking up half the screen when enraged.
Though I've never noticed a real problem, some Hunters complain of the Devilsaur's hit box being so large that it's prone to pull additional aggro at times and/or die from AoE easier.
Like I said, Devilsaur is my choice but I recommend trying one yourself to see. Other good choices are: Wolf, Raptor, Cat and your CoreHound.
Right now wolves are the all-around top choice for all three specs because of Furios Howl. BM Hunters get the most from this, as our Longevity talent reduces the cd on it to 28 seconds. They're very group-friendly too.

Yeah, i use a Rhino for most of my soloing and they're huge by pet standards, so i have a bit of experience with large-hitbox pets, and the targeting problems associated. I'm very grateful for the good suggestion, i definitley will look into trying one out, as i plan to start working with adding MM/SV into my raiding builds, possibly even swapping them out for BM if i find it yields better DPS, so hopefully i should have addressed my pet problem soon.
