I played for a short while back in '09 and ALOT has changed. But nonetheless picked up the game again and decided to roll a Dwarf Huntard! Been playing constantly now since downloading it again 2 days ago and I'm in my low 30's now waiting for this patch/maintenance.
Anyway,
- Professions? I've done a fair share of research determining which ones generate best profits and what have you, but experience speaks best. I'd like my professions to make some profits & usable items, as well as help my other toon (Soon to roll a Pally).
-How does the new queue/dungeon finder work? Seems like the wait is forever sometimes...
-Should I have a Cun., Ten. & Fur. pet on me all the time to use for different situations or do all pets basically perform the same nowadays?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Leviothyn, and welcome to the forums!
I have skinning and leatherworking. I've had those profs since day one and have never re-rolled either of them. That's a great combo for hunters, as you can make your own armor as you level, make armor kits and other biz to sell for G, you get the sweet wrist and leg embossments, etc... Skinning is great because farming is so easy, you get the juicy crit bonus, and it fuels your LW.
My favorite prof is probably engineering, but it is so expensive and tedious to level, in my opinion. Also, if this is your first toon now that you've come back, you're probably better off going with a more lucrative and easier to level combo. Engineering to me is a bit more of an advanced profession, same with Enchanting.
Jewelcrafting is good, but without mining it could be a little rough.
Alchemy and Enchanting are both good profs, but I don't think I'd necessarily recommend them over the others.
Blacksmithing or Tailoring won't be as useful for a hunter, so save those profs for future toons.
Were I in your shoes, I'd go either: LW/Skinning or Skinning/Herbalism. The latter combo will be easy to level, will make you decent $, you'll get 2 DPS buffs, and later on when you're wealthier you could re-roll either one with no remorse. I have skinning/herb on a rogue alt of mine and I love that combo.
New dungeon finder seems to pop mega-fast for me. I've only recently started using LFR, but I've found that I get pops usually within about 5-7 minutes.
Pets have all been standardized apart from their unique abilities. A good idea is to bring along a few different pets so that you have some buff variety. As you level, you're probably going to want to use either a cat or a wolf (ferocity specced), for either the mastery or the crit buff (I prefer wolf).
Once you hit level 69 and get access to the Exotic Beasts spell, provided you've chosen BM as your specialization (as you should), then you can go grab a Core Hound for the heroism, a Shale Spider for the stats bonus, and maybe replace your wolf with a Devilsaur.
You could pack a tenacity specced turtle or beetle just in case you want to be prepared for anything, but most of the time a wolf should do you just fine as you progress on through to Northrend anyway.
And by the way...I just realized this was my 1000th post on these forums. Holy cow..!
Maybe you should win a prize..?
