Hi all, I have levelled a Hunter for the past couple of weeks and reached level 40 today! Woohooo!
I have levelled so far BM as that seems the savy way to go, wasn't too sure if what I was doing was right, but having read through the threads for the guys it would seem ok so far – luckily! lol
I read the thread for levelling to 20 and would like to know if there any threads I cannot find here for further levelling as I feel slightly lost with utilising talent points in reality. Whilst putting them into an build profile is ok I am not sure this is the right thing to do or not to maximise my DPS or usefulness to other party members???
I have just dual specced and am trying to build a MM spec and again would love some direction on where best to prioritise talent points, low level rotations etc as I level please.
Many thanks in advance.

You didn't miss any guides past 20, as I didn't write any. I'd meant to, but oh well… only so much time.
At your level, I'd suggest going BM for dungeon groups.
I'd rock a build like this: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#.....Rwu0b:VbZz
Your less apt to pull aggro as BM, therefore you'll be able to maintain steady DPS. I think MM is great at this level, but it's hard not to pull aggro, especially if you start getting crit happy.
If you just plan on leveling, then I'd stick with BM all the way. You'll be viable in both solo play and in dungeons.
A low level priority differs somewhat in that you want to manage your aggro a bit more.
I'd go with something like this:
Hunter's Mark -> Serpent Sting -> Multi (if only one mob, or the tank has sufficient aggro) -> Arcane
Most of your damage will come from hasted auto shots, plus your pet. All in all, a solid build with a practical and pretty easy play style.
However, if you plan on stepping foot into the occasional BG, then might I suggest this build…
You're sporting some heirloom stuff, so I'd imagine you'd be laying waste to folks.
Lastly, here's an example of a mana-efficient, PvE-geared Survival build: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#.....Ihxdh:bzZz
That build would also be full of utility. You wouldn't provide the group-wide buffs like you would with BM or MM, but you'd bring Improved Traps, Scatter Shot and Wyvern Sting with you. I think this would be a fantastic all-around build, especially if you wanted to be a "utility guy".
Priority with this build would be more or less the same as the suggested BM priority.
Hope some of this helps.
Hiya and thanks for the response.
I have stepped in to dual spec for BGs and am going to follow your MM advice, as I am soooooo loving playing this wee guy. Hunters Rock!!!
Awesome response, seriously cannot thank you enough, so a measily HUGE thanks again from an Uber Happy Hunter levelling his way to the top! Watch this space! hehehee
