Hey! I'm new to this hunter stuff, very new. I've been looking at starting another character as my former one was taken over by someone else. This site has inspired me in new ways and led me to ponder many questions! So, here they are!
1) What's the best DPS Raid spec and what's the best PvP spec? I've heard many conflicting answers and I thought I'd ask you guys.
2) What's the best DPS pet obtainable in the game (DPS wise.)?
3) What's the best Tank pet obtainable in the game (Again, in terms of stats.)?
4) I've heard BM isn't the best spec, but they are planning to beef it up in the future… What is the best DPS a BM hunter can do?
5) How long did it take you to tame: Nuramoc, Gondria, Arcturis, Skoll and Loque'nahak?
Thanks! Looking forwards to reading all these posts! This site has reminded me how WoW used to feel for me and it's not all about stats and gear!

Hello Hakuro,
1) What's the best DPS Raid spec and what's the best PvP spec? I've heard many conflicting answers and I thought I'd ask you guys.

2) What's the best DPS pet obtainable in the game (DPS wise.)?
If you're mainly looking to run 5 mans, then I'd suggest a wolf. It's smaller size and 320AP buff will likely prove more useful in heroics.
If you plan on raiding, then go with a Devilsaur. Devilsaurs scale better with raid buffs.
3) What's the best Tank pet obtainable in the game (Again, in terms of stats.)?
Crocs and Bears are best for multi target tanking, and all around tanking. Turtles and Warp Stalkers are best for extreme soloing vs single targets.
4) I've heard BM isn't the best spec, but they are planning to beef it up in the future… What is the best DPS a BM hunter can do?
About 10% behind Survival. It's difficult to give a number here, as encounters vary a great deal. That said, a decent and well geared BM Hunter could expect to do around 7.5k-8k in ideal circumstances. I'm sure there are some pushing over 9k somewhere, but most of the ones I see are hovering in the 5-6K range.
I think the reason BM is always so low on the charts is because most of the hunters capable of pushing top DPS choose to spec MM or SV, since they're both superior.
5) How long did it take you to tame: Nuramoc, Gondria, Arcturis, Skoll and Loque'nahak?
Nuramoc's pretty easy to get, since Outland is pretty vacant these days.
As for the Spirit Beasts… it's all about luck. I'm gonna guess that Skoll is the most difficult tame at the moment. He has three spawn loactions and is wildly popular. Arcturis is tough as well, but he has only one spawn location, making him much eaiser to camp.
Loque and Gondria have less competition right now, so I'm guessing you could nab either of them within a week.
Thanks! Looking forwards to reading all these posts! This site has reminded me how WoW used to feel for me and it's not all about stats and gear!

Sounds amazing! Thank you very much for your answers!
I'll always have BM by my side, when I scrape up enough gold I'll most likely go dual-spec so I can really pump out the DPS in raids, by the time my character is out there though I hope some equalisation has taken place between the three specs.
I'll be sure to let you know how my character is getting on, if I need help and the likes... already compiled a nice long list of animals I intend to obtain and when I intend to obtain them! Can't wait for cata in terms of stables though...
Anyhow, I hope to be apart of this somewhat small but ever-growing community!
