I think the time has come to hit our friends at Blizzard up with a simple request - give Hunters more pet slots! I was reading Garwulfs post on how he would love to try and tame Skoll but would then be facing the dilemma of who to drop. While I am yet to fill my own stable with anything close to rare or ultra rare pets, I too am faced with the prospect of having to get rid of old friends who leveled with me during the hard times. Its kinda like your high school year book.... you dont read it every day but its nice to know its there as its full of memories. So rather than having to get rid of old low level faithful pets or discard ultra rare pets, I think we should petition Blizzard with an open letter or start a campaign to get them to increase the slots. My letter would look something like this....
Wouldn't it be nice if you increased the number of pet slots available to Hunters to keep up with all the new rare animals you keep releasing. The 5 slots you currently supply do indeed cover the 3 broad groupings of pets available, however, for many Hunters the art of tracking down, stalking and finally managing to tame a rare or unusual beast is in itself a "game within a game". As the number of slots has NO impact on the game and cannot be seen as an unfair advantage to Hunters over others, why not cater to your clients needs on your next game release? As the framework and concept of the stable is already coded, the addition of extra slots cannot pose a major programming issue.
Or, if you REALLY want a different approach and wish to cater to the thousands of hunters who view beast taming as an integral part of the game, why not give a high level quest (and achievement) built around this obvious need. Imagine a quest with a list of super rare spawns - tame any 2 on the list to open 5 new pet slots. Its the same concept as the Northern Exposure quest, only we want to tame them, not kill them! I will bet almost every Hunter on WOW will take up the challange to have a stable of rares. You have only to log into most servers at any time of the day to find Hunters circling known spawn points or "camping" hoping that they will beat the rest to tame an exotic.
The emotional attachment Hunters feel towards their pets is understandable given the hundreds of hours spent questing together through the levels. But having only 5 slots equates to having to dump old friends in favour of new pets - especially if you are a rare pet tamer or simply want to upgrade as you level. The act of dumping them, never to be seen again, is not only emotional, but also severs the great WOW memories attached to seeing them or taking them out for a nostalgic run.
This would only add to the fun that can be experienced playing WOW for the Hunter community and is a very small ask given the potential to delight so many of your customers.

Having the ability to stable more pets, I'd certainly go after the rares. Much more fun than collecting vanity-pets.
I recently bagged Gondria (after trying out a BM spec for 10 min.), but as I prefer the SV/MM specs, I will (reluctantly) have to let Gondria go and use the slot for a pet I can actually use without specing BM.
Now, if Blizzard were to come up with triple-spec ...

I'm on board with triple-spec " />
Actually, you know what'd be cool is a consumable item that inscribers could make that would be a single use or multi-charge book to unlearn and re-learn talents.
They could be purchasable for around 25G maybe, and give you a near unlimited and on-the-fly ability to repsec for different situations. Hmmm… I need to develop this idea a bit more, but I like it.
Having two specs to choose from is nice, but I seriously would like to have about 4-5. " />
BM Soloing Build
Those are the ones I'd like to have constant access to.
