I just had a conversation with a GM. I was reporting a player for griefing and basically, the GM said that all potential pets are fair game and will belong to whoever tames it first.
It’s an ugly policy and as we’ve seen, it’s being taken advantaged of by lesser players. I’ve always been wishing for a taming lockout: where no one else can disrupt a Tame Beast once it’s cast. Just to balance it, if it’s a failure, the next tamers nearby can have their turn.
What do you think?

Anj,
it's a nice idea, however that would remove any option a fellow hunter had for gentlemanly/ladylike or sporting behaviour. And as such, those of us who do take our turn, assist, or just applaud the successful tamer will not be as special as we are now.
Cheers,
D

I've always thought this would be a great idea, and would like to see them move toward something like this. Especially with all of the new pet challenges that are going on now too. It would also be great to have it where people cant kill pets you are trying to tame while you are taming, we've heard of a lot of that going on, and can imagine the frustration.

Thank you or agreeing with this. I was taming Skarr last night and had some competition from the Alliance. After successfully taming him, about five or ten minutes later, the group that was competing with me all made level 1 characters and proceeded to rage on me. I was considering reporting them just for some of the vulgar things they were saying but I really didn't care. I knew how to tame him, and did so…they didn't. It's good to see that a GM would have had my back too.
