Ahoy chums!
The Drachster is about to undergo a huge transformation. I've decided to take on a faction change. That's right, I am no longer going to be a blueberry space goat! There are multiple reasons that I've decided to do this, the main one being that the alliance is kinda dead on my server…and pretty douchey. I've found a good guild with the Horde, and have always had a good experience with the Horde.
SO! I am at a loss as what race I wanna swap to, and am looking for you, my posse if you will, to help me decide. What do you think ole Drachster should be. Shall it be a troll (Tak I know this has your vote), a pretty boy blood elf, or the horde equivalent of a goat..a cow? Help a brother out and pitch me your best ideas!

Orc IMO, but it doesn't seem to be one you're considering.
Their racials are awesome, especially for bad mofos.

Troll, Orc and Goblin are arguably the best all-around horde hunter races, but wussy blood elves, tauren and undead can be pretty decent choices for PvP.
Go with what you like though. I think all of the horde races are pretty solid in their own ways.

I think it would be best if I ran through the races for you. Keep in mind this is my opinion.
If you become a cow I will find you and eat you. That's pretty much all there is to say. Tauren suck. The only doorway you can fit through is the gates to Org and your a bovine. It's sort of hard to be cool at all when your cousins are being eaten for dinner.
If your looking to absolutely maximize your DPS, go with an Orc. They show the best racials at the moment and therefore the highest dps. Also I think they look pretty badass and the starting area is one of the better ones.
I went with a troll because of the lore and basically the physical aspect. Although the constant Jamaican accent gets a little old. Poppping http://www.wowhead.com/spell=26297 can be awesome if used at the right time too.
Don't be a blood elf. They are worse than Tauren. Mainly cause they are elf's. You know all that pink and gold and shtuff. It's really not manly and awesome… in any way. And Silvermoon is lame. Yea.
Goblins are pretty freaking awesome. I think it'd be cool to macro in their rocket launcher, and the engineering one into your shots. And the starting quest line was freaking awesome. It rocked the socks right off of me.
So basically; Orc, Troll, Goblin… YAAAAAAY! Tauren and Blood Elf… BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

If your looking for damage, Orc, Troll and Goblin is the route to go. If you want an added option for tight situations then go Forsaken, Tauren or Blood Elf. It comes down to racials if you talking game mechanics. If your like me, my choice was more lore wise when I rolled a troll. If I was to chose game mechanics wise, it would be a hard choice for me between Orc, Troll or Goblin. You all know what my personal opinion would be though. GO TROLL!

i don't care what they say, i'm in absolute bliss when I am PVPing on my pretty blood elf hunter with my spirit beast. Arcane Torrent + Spirit Mend + Disengage and kill = FTW
I think it really depends on what you like to do most, then run with it.
I am glad you finally found a guild you like. Not surprised it is horde side.

Thanks guys! I think it is actually between orc and troll really, I like the racials a lot. Thanks for all the input, it has helped a lot. I really think it's going to be orc, I don't think I could handle the constant reggae feel.
You guys are great, I'll keep you posted as to what choice I make…only bad thing is I'll need a new avatar for the forums now lol.
I really want to make a Goblin now, after hearing Boba talk about their starting quest line I'm gonna have to have that experience I think. I don't think I could be one all the time though, too small for my ego…

Whichever you choose, definitely pick one you'll enjoy aesthetically and/or roleplay if you're into that. When I created my hunter, everyone told me I was crazy not to go with an orc due to the racials. But being a typical female as I am, I couldn't get myself past the character creation screen, they were just too blasted ugly. And so Kioni was born as a troll, and I am so glad I went that way. She so fits my idea of a hunter, and I even have followed kind of an african theme with her rather than the jamaican thing, using Swahili for her and her pet's names, which has been fun.
I agree with the others about Tauren and Undead. And as for a male blood-elf? Seriously, how would they be able to pull a bow with those weenie arms?
And I definitely second the goblins. Absolultely the best starting questline in the game. I may or may not continue with my shaman alt now that I've moved back into the regular questing areas, but the first 10-15 levels was worth every minute.

That's awesome, thanks for the tips Kioni, and welcome to the lodge! I totally respect the RP players out there, but I'm just not one of them. If I was I would probably go troll too, Tak is our resident Troll lore master and he always makes them seem very cool. I wish he'd share some more of his stories with us, he's quite the storyteller as well!
