Takaas said:Ok, have covered Rogues and Druids. Now for the last of the classes that are a thorn in my side........Warlocks. More specific, Affliction Warlocks. Tips/strategies?
I silence their asses right away, Feign to avoid the pet, then just unload. I'll often Scatter as the silence is about to wear off, drop some snakes on them while I'm in range, then Disengage out. The Scatter causes them to eat another unanswered shot and the snakes provide interrupts as well as slow cast time.
If I have Readiness available, and if the Lock is a beast, I'll pop it and try to keep him silenced. Apart from this, I just try to maintain range, keep them moving and interrupt their casts if possible.
Next to Shadow Priests, Locks are the toughest for me. Any class that can DoT and run, while also being able to mitigate damage, is always going to be a problem for a hunter. We have no way to cleanse their damaging spells, no way to heal ourselves in combat, no talents or buffs to mitigate or absorb damage, and on top of that we can be feared... Locks are pretty OP right now, so don't feel too bad if you don't always win those battles.

Thanks for all of your response to my post Garwulf. Just about all of the info you have given has proven useful. Its nice to see someone respond with informative stuff rather then just flame people. The spec you recommended is working out quite well. I've started using several of the macros you have posted on your site and they are great.

I'm no expert on PvP, but I'm pretty good with a hunter. I'm not privy to what all of the other classes have up their sleeves, but I know what I'm capable of and what typically works for me.
ArenaJunkies can be a good place for PvP info. I mean, they're all total pros over there and have expert knowledge of the game, it's just that sometimes the basics are skimmed over or ignored. They're on another plane entirely. However, if you care to wade through the Hunter class forum over there, you can find some useful tidbits now and again.
I'm really glad that build is working out for you!

Sunrift said:Just curious Garwulf, but would you find a Core Hound pet to be of much use against casters? Their lava breath slows down the caster's casting speed but I wasnt sure if it actually made a big enough difference to consider taming one of these.
Oh definitely. If you're a BM PvPer, I'd definitely recommend a Core Hound. The cast debuff is great, but the lumber that they bring is what you're really after. Core Hounds offer the best combination of DPS + useful PvP debuff.
Read my guide on PvP pets to determine what's right for you though: https://huntsmanslodge.com/hun.....r-pvp-pets
