I fought this guy in a WSG match last night:

I’m still having problems figuring out fights against a Frost Mage. I was killing people that were coming in alone to grab our flag. After several failed attempts to grab our flag this Frost Mage came with one of them. He managed to nail me inside the smaller room of the flag area. Every time I busted out of some sort of crowd control he had, he almost instantly cc’d me again. He kept me pinned in the small area and basically just widdled me down.

Frost mages are hard to fight, CC being very strong with them. I think Blizzard have got the ol' paper/scissors/rock thing pretty good overall. Though there are always complaints (and I'm not suggesting this thread i one of them) about how some class or another is overpowered. Having played most classes, I think it comes down to skill more than class. (In other words, I struggle a lot! lol!!!)
Having said that, I make sure to always use a targeting macro that goes for the player, not a pet…
/targetenemyplayer
/petattack
and have Master's Call in a very easy to get to key. Then when do eventually break out, at least I'm targeting the player, not the pet, and Fido just might be able to save the day for me.
It's always going to be hard when our anti-cc cooldowns are a lot longer than the enemy CC cooldowns. Mages also have Blink to get out of CC too but that's on a 15 second cd, much faster than 2 mins for a trinket or a racial.
