Hi there, Thank you very much for clicking this topic. First of all, I would like to try to start up a community for the Hunter class specifically. A place for new and old hunters a like, to hang out, talk about that hard find/tame rare, or share knowledge of the class rotation and gear management to help everybody who might have questions. With that being said i am by no means the most knowledgeable and still have questions from more experienced hunters from time to time. I hope that with this place we can all gather and share information about all things hunter related. Here is a link to the community. I hope to see all, if not a lot of hunters take interest in this, because as you know Hunters do take their share of ridicule. Help with Skoll, If Possible.

hey guys I was wondering if anyone would help me with taming skoll. I am aware of his spawn point and such but I cant seem to be able to find him for the life of me. I am quite new at wow and I really want Skoll as my pet. would anyone be able to?

Hi guys...I'm a newbie hunter..and would love to get my first spirit beast ever! The issue is I'm level 92, and the void elites at the end of the quest chain are level 100. Now i know some of you might say, just wait til you are 100 to get her...and I could..but I really don't have a cool pet as beast mastery and I would love this wolf. Is anyone out there, who has Gara, or is at this part, that is 100, and would maybe come help me get her???? I'm horde by the way.

Hunter 6.1 Changes

Here is a breakdown of what changes are coming for Hunters in patch 6.1 next Tuesday.

Beast Mastery
- Improved Focus Fire now grants an 8% increase to attack power per Frenzy stack consumed (up from 5%).
Marksman
- Careful Aim now increases critical strike chance of Steady Shot, Focusing Shot, and Aimed Shot by 50% (down from 60%).
- Chimaera Shot damage increased by 30.4%.
- Sniper Training is now 25% more effective.
Survival
- Trap Mastery no longer reduces the cooldown of all traps and Black Arrow by 6 seconds.
- Black Arrow now has a cooldown of 24 seconds (down from 30 seconds).
- Enhanced Traps now reduces the cooldown on all traps by 33% (down from 50%).
Hunter Pets
- Basilisks now have a pet family ability. Stone Scales reduces damage taken by the pet. Previously, Basilisks did not have a pet family ability.
- Hydra pets should no longer be excessively large.
- Spirit Beast's Spirit Beast Blessing now also provides a 5% increase to critical strike chance. Does not stack with other critical strike chance buffs. Previously, other exotic pet families provided buffs to 2 stats while Spirit Beasts provided only 1.

Overall BM isn't getting much of a change, aside from being more focus efficient. The change to careful aim is particularly painful as this makes MM crit soft cap 53% instead of 43%. I'm not sure it's feasible to try and reach the crit cap without sacrificing too much in other secondary stats like Multistrike. The increased damage of Chimaera shot should mean a decent increase in DPS, and gives me more reason to stay MM personally. Increase in sniper training effectiveness will bring me up to about 10% now. It might be worthwhile to stack Mastery of Multishot, at least for certain boss fights. The changes to traps for survival are probably a PVP based nerf, and they will nerf PvE DPS somewhat since explosive trap will not be available as often. Black Arrow cooldown means you are spending focus on it more often in PvE and is a little annoying, but a very small nerf, while being a buff for PVP since you will be able to use it more often. All in all the biggest change seems to have occurred for MM and we'll have to see how much of a DPS change it makes for me on the raiding front.

Disengage

Has anyone else noticed how versatile disengage is these days? Depending on your glyphs and talents it can do so much. As you're leveling you may not use it very much. Upon reaching max level make sure you put it back on your bars If you haven't done so. It is probably one of our best utility abilities. For raiding, I have used it on every single boss fight in Highmaul, and I have watched other Hunters die standing in fire because they forget they have it. Get to practicing your jump-turn disengages people!

How is your Garrison set up?

I'm curious which buildings you've erected and which ones you like best. On Garwulf, I have things set up this way:

Dwarven Bunker
Stables
Trading Post
Barn
Tannery
Storehouse
Salvage Yard

My favorite building in the list is probably the Salvage Yard. I think the Dwarven Bunker is awesome while leveling, but it's become sorta ho-hum for me now, but I do like the follower upgrades. I had a Lumber Mill early on, then replaced it with the Trading Post once I had a comfortable amount of resources. I found the TP handy at first, but now that I'm seeing how tough it is to amass the parts for the auctioneer, I'm wondering whether or not I intend to keep it. I'm kinda thinking of replacing it with the Gladiator Pit, but I do like the idea of having an auctioneer and full bank access (with the storehouse) in my Garrison. On my Pally alt I have an Inn, which I think is full of win. I love having the ability to recruit followers, and the quests and quest rewards are a nice bonus. I'd like to hear how others have outfitted their Garrisons, and which of the buildings you can't live without.

Hunter DPS issues

Good afternoon

I am having an issue with my hunter, I can't seem to get my dps above 15k and it hurts me.

My hunter's ilvl is at 640 at the moment, I can't seem to figure out what is going wrong it kinda feels like I lost her.

My hunter is PVE MM and I raid two times a week with the guild, maybe it's because i am to focused on the tacts and losing grip on my dps

I really don't know anymore, can you fellow hunters help me out here?
