I logged in again to try and further sort out my UI, macros and skill assignments – – now it’s all I can think about. πŸ™

Good news for you guys I suppose. πŸ™‚

I’ll try my best to see if I can make some headway tonight. I’ll be sure and offer up any helpful tips I should happen to discover or come across.

Initially, I’ll probably be mainly looking at Beast Mastery since it is my most favoritest spec. My plan is to relearn it inside and out, for both PvE and PvP, then move on to the other specs.

My first order of business will be to investigate some new addons, devise some new macros and then start work on fight mechanics and shot priority. Of course… I may also take a detour from that and go after some new beasties to add to the stable. πŸ˜‰

I’ll hopefully have more later on tonight or tomorrow morning.

  1. I’ve done a fair bit of experimenting with BM in Battlegrounds and duels so far. The loss of CC immunity during BW dramatically changes the overall PVP strategy. But even more of a problem for me was that BM is now much MORE about the pet than before. If your pet is slowed, rooted, or for whatever reason isn’t in reach of a tareget… no Kill Command. You just useless hit the KC button a few times until it is clear that your pet isn’t in range. Also, if you pet gets killed, it’s over. Your dps without a pet is abysmal, and there is no Improved Revive Pet Talent, so rezzing your pet takes a LONG time. BM does well only when both pet and hunter are left alone to do their thing. That said, I still had some fun.
On the topic of pets, in my opinion Spirit Beasts are now THE pet of choice in BGs. My Spirit Beasts make me top healer on the Alliance side… I added Spirit Mend to my “Save a Friend Macro”, which now does Master’s call, Roar of Sacrifice, and Spirit Mend to a mouseover target or default to me. I also tried out Corehound, Silithid, and Chimera. They remain good options, and would probably be great if you had a pocket healer to make the Spirit Beast unnecessary.
I’m looking forward to hearing what you find out in your experimenting!

  2. Yeah me too. I was never what you would call an expert at this game, but I am finding myself a bit lost with the new system. I’m not complaining mind, just need a bit of guidance on what to do and also would really like my addons like opie to work but life’s a b……

Also, would just like to say that I am new here on huntsmanslodge after discovering you last week. Very good info here and certainly helped point out some flaws in my gameplay so thanks and keep up the good work.

  3. TBH I’m feeling very sore at the prospect of re-configuring my shot rotation/macros and getting a new feel of mechanics to a class I’ve played for more than 275 days and 5 hours ;), a huge chunk of it being BM.

The first thing I noticed once I updated my recount and started on the Training-Dummy, was that a consistent shot rotation went out the window, with the regeneration of Focus being heavily volatile and most abilities now running on a GCD, I’m feeling panicked into hitting whatever shot lights up and weaving in steadies when I’m low on focus.

All I can really foresee to make my class viable in raids is getting a basic set of macros, eg: pairing KC with AS etc, and further down the track, fine-tune my shots to reduce the focus return spillover so I don’t have to Steady shot as often.

  4. I really need a guide!

Some ppl was saying that hunters now are overpoweds and stuff, but for now I cant find the way. My dps is too low, 3k is a joke, in bg i always was in top 5 now im in the middle. I reforged my set and change critical for mastery and didnt make any diference. As survival I always ran out of focus in seconds. Also Mages and Druids kills very easy.

    • I’ll see what I can come up with Jerry, but as I’d mentioned, I’ll probably be mainly focusing on BM for now. I don’t really have time to go through all the specs right now, so I’m just going to try and do one thing well, then move on. πŸ˜‰

  5. There’s a helpful tip on the UI & Macros forum about getting SBF working. This won’t allow you to configure SBF, but it will at least make pre-configured SBF work mostly as before. I tried it myself, and it did work.

Also, it seems like ShadowedUF is gone but someone has stepped up to continue it: Last I heard r4 was working well. But r5 and r6 were bugged. It’s up to r8 now, and a few folks have mentioned it’s working for them.

    • Thanks for the tip Guster, but I’ll most likely look to another addon to handle my buffs and so forth. Development for the addon has all but stopped, so I’m going to look at other options that are still being updated.

I had no idea about SUF… I’ll have to look into that as well.

      Thanks again for the info.
