For those of you who were unable to attend BlizzCon, or watch the Directv broadcast, here is the formal announcement of the Hunter class changes.
The video features both Warlock and Hunter changes, so fast-forward to 3:31 if you just want to catch the hunter class stuff.
It looks as if haste is going to be more important than ever since it will be boosting focus regen rates.
While I am all for having a different resource for casting shots, having focus work like energy to me initially means waiting for energy to cast a shot, and a lot more focus on steady shot. There is going to be a drastic change to Marks considering right now steady shot is 4th in my priority for shots using it only while the others are on cooldown. As long as they make focus come back fast enough it won’t be too much of a pain in the butt. I also hope they don’t require melee attacks to use focus. The last thing I need is to burn all of my focus getting out of melee range then having no focus to burst on the enemy when I get to range.
I am looking forward to the new ammo system. I’m not looking forward to going strictly attribute based as it’s going to lead to a lot of cookie-cutter gear and take away some of the uniqueness of different armors.
Of all the new things I’ve seen so far, the new talent mastery bonuses are intriguing me the most. I like that it scales with the amount of talent points spent.
This, plus the potential to customize the pet’s talent tree, should make for very interesting times in the Hunter community.
