I May Regret This in the Morning…

May 2, 2009

Or, I may not. I’m not entirely sure yet.

So there ya have it. Out of all the pets in my stable, I chose to dump the Chimaera.
For those just tuning in, the reason I did this was because I chose to spec Survival for arena and needed the stable slot to tame a new beastie.
At [...]

Full Circle

April 20, 2009

Here are a couple of reasons why I went back to Beast Mastery this past weekend.

After probably 350G in respecs, another 150G or so for glyphs, and several hours of playing time, I’ve come full circle. I am a dual specialized Beast Master. 52/14/5 and 53/18/0.
When I first started playing WoW, I was immediately drawn [...]

Why BM Hunters Should Try a Chimera

April 14, 2009

Disclaimer 04/15/09: Since this subject has gotten a decent amount of attention, I just want to make a few things clear. I am not stating that the Chimera is “The Top DPS Pet”. I am saying that I believe it to be an excellent choice for both PvP and PvE based on my experience and [...]

I’m Raiding With My Chimera in 3.1

April 12, 2009

In the event that I spec BM for a raid. You betcha.
I did a fourth and final DPS test tonight with my Chimera. It seems like the combination of Froststorm Breath, Wolverine Bite, Owl’s Focus and Roar of Recovery is just that good. The 2.1 second cooldown on Roar of Recovery makes a fairly substantial [...]

Top DPS Exotic Pet for BM Hunters in 3.1 is… Chimera..?

April 11, 2009

I conducted my second round of scientific studies concerning exotic pet DPS. The results may surprise you. Out of my three exotic pets, the Cunning family pet came out on top. That’s right… my Chimera was head and shoulders above the Devilsaur and Spirit Beast.
I was a bit surprised at first, so I ran the [...]

BM Glyphs, BM Pets, Pet Specs and Shot Rotation

March 17, 2009

After I posted my spec yesterday, I realized I should have added the glyphs I use as well. I was reminded of this oversight when Dhallia commented asking about my glyphs, pet(s) and pet talent specs. My post wasn’t intended to be a look at how to maximize the class for DPS or PvP, but [...]

Time To Spend Those Saved Arena Points

March 9, 2009

At least that’s what I thought once I found out season 5 would be coming to a close shortly, along with the Arena Points being reset. I was planning on banking my points until I could attain the rating for the purples, but I don’t see that happening this season. Oh well, at least I [...]

Family Photo

February 19, 2009

I brought the whole family together for a quick snapshot now that everyone is level 80. Amazing how they’re all able to play so nice together. Now if only I could have them all out with me at once. That would be fun. Maybe that’ll be a new 61 point talent in the next expansion. [...]

I Like The Chimaera For PvP

February 8, 2009

I leveled my Chimaera to 80 last week and began using him in arena and battlegrounds. So far, it’s a pretty good choice for me since I’m keeping the 51pt BM talent and I’m running double and triple-dps combos. The ranged slow is great for keeping our opponents locked down so that my melee partner(s) [...]

Blizzard fixed my Chimaera

January 29, 2009

Hooray! Blizzard fixed the Chimaera stutter-attack problem.
About a month ago I decided to try out a Chimaera for PvP. Froststorm Breath looked so good on paper I had to give one a shot. As if a 5 second 50% slow on a 7 second second cooldown (with 3/3 Furious Inspiration of course) wasn’t enough… it [...]
