Scrolling combat Health Ticks?? - UI, Addons and Macros - Hunter Forums

Hello all,
First time posting here (registered just for this purpose actually,
). Anyway, I respec'd my BM hunter yesterday and tamed my first Devilsaur. My question is..as soon as I respec'd, I started getting the scrolling combat text health ticks from Spirit Bond, whereas I hadn't before. It's starting to annoy me, and I have looked all over the place to try to turn it off, but it's not working, short of completely turning off ANY scrolling combat text…which I don't want.
Here is a list of my addons:
Any help you guys can give would be most appreciated!
Install this addon: http://wow.curse.com/downloads…..-text.aspx
It will give you all sorts of control over combat text; what's shown and what's hidden, and loads of other nifty features.
You can set it to not show incoming heals, or set a threshold so that it only shows incoming heals if they're greater than x. Just make that number 1000+ or something, to rule out spirit bond ticks.
Hope that helps. ![]()

Awesome suggestion, and thanks for the quick reply…although…I am playing on a slightly antiquated laptop over wifi, and have heard (a long time ago, admittedly) that Miks is a resource hog. Obviously, i have other mods that are FAR more resource intensive, but I am trying to cut down on the bloat at the moment. Another reason I am hesitant to install a mod to accomplish this is…it wasn't showing up before, and I didn't do anything different other than a talent or two. Very confused by this.

OfflineCan you take a screen shot of it and post it? To me, it sounds as though it's PA related, but can't be sure.

Here is the screenshot of the "offending" health ticks
And for no reason other than completeness, here is a screenshot of my Combat Text settings:
Again, any assistance is much appreciated! Starting to look like I have no choice but to install another mod. I had hoped I could just ignore the thing….but it's lilke a leaky faucet at this point.

OfflineNow i know what you are talking about. I think Gar's idea would be the best option for you, if you don't want to poke around with settings. At least you know now it is coming from Spirit Bond. I don't know if it's coming from the Health and Mana warnings, or from something in Buffs and Debuffs (which seems more likely to me.)
I have the same thing when i'm PVPing. I kinda like my spirit beast taking down a paladin while i'm chomping on a mage and the ticks are going up. I'll try and see what I can turn off to turn it off without a mod. You are right, it does tick off pretty often. It is downright annoying to me only when i am rping.
I've not known MSBT to be a huge resource hog, if anything it seems like it would improve performance by making your screen less spammy. You can set thresholds to reduce a lot of the combat text that appears, turn off notifications, etc..
I say just d/l and install it. See how it works out for you… Worst that happens is you uninstall it.
The default Blizz combat text filters are pretty minimal, so I don't really see a way to turn off Spirit Bond ticks without turning off all incoming heal notifications. Of course, I've not messed with Blizz's combat text since TBC when I discovered the awesomeness of MSBT. ![]()

OfflineI'm willing to bet that you didn't have the points in Spirit Bond before. ![]()

Doh…I am now fully in "Huntard" land. I had thought of that before, and after a QUICK perusal of the talent trees, I didn't see anything that would be granting it. After I read your comment I went back and double checked….Spirit Bond
Wow, how did I miss that? Sorry for all the confusion folks.

Offlineomg Darlin, do NOT apologize! I've been there, done that, and have the blazing plunger-arrow to my forehead to prove it. I think you alluded to it earlier, which is the only reason I thought of it.
What really matters, is that hopefully your problem is solved. Let us know how the new addon works.
