Mouseover / Focus Conditionals and Modifiers - UI, Addons and Macros - Hunter Forums
Topic RSS
OK, this has been stumping me for a good long time now.
I'm trying to put together a macro that would accept mouseover AND focus target conditionals for Silencing Shot and Tranquilizing Shot, using the Shift modifier to toggle between both. Here is how I have it set up:
/cast [nomod] [@mouseover, harm] [@focus, harm, exists] Tranquilizing Shot
/cast [mod:shift] [@mouseover, harm] [@focus, harm, exists] Silencing Shot
Theoretically, I expected this to work as other modifier-based macros would. However, what happens in reality is that this macro prioritizes Silencing Shot when used, and then fires off Tranqs until the cooldown for Silencing is up–regardless of whether I press Shift or not.
What am I doing wrong here? Or is it even possible to use modifiers for Mouseover and Focus target macros?
I see what you're trying to do here, but I don't think it's possible. I've not seen any macros before like yours, nor have I ever tried to create one like this. However, just to be sure, I tried out a few variations before I answered this. I couldn't get any of them to work.
To me, it seemed like this would have worked…
/cast [nomod][@mouseover,harm][@focus,harm,exists] Tranquilizing Shot; [mod:shift][@mouseover,harm][@focus,harm,exists] Silencing Shot
…but it chokes. I'm not entirely sure as to why, but my guess is the macro doesn't like the double targeting conditionals.
Gar, thanks for the reply and yeah, I think that's it. =/ Somewhere along the line the game hates using multiple target conditionals with button modifiers and it frizzles out. Although to be fair it DOES leave me with a macro that shoots both Tranq Shot and Silencing Shot at the same time on my Focus/Mouseover target. A bit hefty on the Focus cost, but at least it disrupts those irritating Disc Priests in PvP.
If so, I might just get rid of the conditionals and leave the macro as is so I can add "/y SHADDAAAAAAPPPPPPP!!!!" at the end. ![]()

In my experience, if you are going to use modifiers, those conditions should be at the top of the macro…
/cast [mod:shift] bla bla bla
However, your [nomod] condition should have covered it.
Another heretical option would be
/castsequence [@mouseover,harm][@focus,harm] Tranquilizing Shot; Tranquilizing Shot
/cast [@mouseover,harm][@focus,harm] Silencing Shot; Silencing Shot
But then again, while Silencing Shot is on cooldown, Tranq Shot will fire off. That's better than nothing happening though.
