Rant: Solix, my server and a Moron. - Hunter Pet Discussion - Hunter Forums

After a golfing and fishing hiatus after the 4.2 release due to the idiot quotient rising exponentially per rare pet this ol' boy decided to re-enter the WOW world and abuse himself by doing the Molten Front Quests n such. Naturally taming all the rares is on my list of things to do. Now being an older fella I figured the overachievers and "gotta have it right now and if I can't no one will" asshats would've went after most of the non-spirit rares and probably got em by now. Aaah even at this advanced age it's nice to retain such child-like innocence.

So, I'm in this cave doing some rune stompin quest and NPC pops Solix. He's like right in my face. First off, that's one big ass angry arachnid. Now as I don't particularly care about spiders, I finish the quest, run out of the cave and alt-tab here, naturally , to read up on taming Solix.  Rant break: This site is still the coolest.

Rant On: After getting the tame skinny I re-open the game and it's me n the spider and now a priest. I'm not a big religion fan but this priest , she was pretty cool-must be a new sect that allows female priests, sure ain't Catholic. Anyhow, she's buffing up and asks me to group, "Why?" asks the anti-social soloing dwarf. She's gonna whack Solix. No no I say, I'm going to try and tame the lava bathing beastie. However as she had technically arrived on the scene whilst I was reading up I say go ahead n kill it if ya want (gallant or what?) 'Nope' she says, 'can I help?' Well color me pinkly tickled. Being clueless about priests, especially female ones, I say "Aside from being bait, I figure if you toss a couple heals, Hail Marys or whatever priests do while I'm kiting this thing that'd be cool"

Allrighty then, I'm ready. Cheetah aspect , drop a Frost trap and commence Concussive shot. At this point I'll say I looked well, fantasmically awesome. I'm doing the kite, took spidey up the bridge, down n right through the Frost trap again-drop another…Oh as I'm zooming through the trap I see a Worgen Hunter now also loitering about. I figure he's just in awe watching my huntery awesomeness.

So, Solix hits 33 focus and I pop Garwulf's tame macro-oh my the lil tame hearts are floating, Tony Bennett is crooning, I can sense the love that is in the air and then WHAM, Solix goes to the Worgen Hunter. Yup, that pissant popped off a shot at Solix in the middle of my tame to do a steal. I try to regain the tame but no go. Solix flips over deader than any spider that runs into me in real life. The priest, she says 'What happened? You had him!" I say "Uhh peckerhead here, a hunter no less tried to steal the tame and killed him"

I am irritated with this person, not because I lost a spider, I don't like spiders, it's the fn point and the challenge of the tame. A fellow hunter  who now says "Dude I'm sorry my bad" screwed the pooch on this one.

I'm so p***ed I switch to PVP and challenge the idiot. As much for the 'Dude my bad' part as ruining my tame. Now check this, he won't fight!. I have eight, that's right eight  honorable PVP kills (40446 dishonorable ones) and six of em have been when another player has tried to interrupt my fishin or such by ganking me or my enjoyment exactly like this fool.

That he won't scrap a person of my mediocrity is just pathetic. Being afraid of me is akin to being paralyzed in fear by an Enchanted Broom.

Anyhow, I came , I wrote,  I ranted and I'm thrilled to see the asshat quotient is being maintained.

Oh yes, the fabulous f****n gem or whatever I got from the corpse was just outf****nstanding.

'tis the challenge I enjoy. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and try and learn PvP even though it's so late in the game. Hell I don't mind dying for a cause and what better way to waste my life other than learning a new aspect of a game given my obsessive nature?

I've another tale. Late last night, after I posted this rant I came across Skaar. At the time, no-one around, absolutely no-one. Now on that boy I had read your info because he ain't a spider, he's one cool lookin cat. So I do some rock hoppin, do the Ancient Hysteria thing and pop your macro. Alright, he three shots me. I did this 4 times. Once I came so close to completing the tame but the damn rock gave way-now that was funny. Cracked both the rock and me up. After the 4th go I figure given I buff out at 126 and of course have no fire prot if it even works I might be just a wee bit low on HP. Given I can't do any interrupts n such, or it could be my genetic predisposition to mediocrity.

No matter, still no-one around except on the 5th long spirit run a priest is there. I swear they must've read the initial post and are now drawn to me. Maybe I can start a cult? It's a Horde priest so I figure I might get my PvP wish. I'm so ganked by this time with armor damage blah blah I figure f**k it, nod to the priest and sit down, buff up-again, and wait for Ancient Hysteria to come off cooldown. If the preist whacks Skaar or me, whatever I'll go out in a blaze of glory. Well call me dumbfounded, the priest waits til I'm up, nods back and casts fortitude on me and I tamed Skaar.

Compensated for the Solix thing even though aside from Skaar killin me at will the challenge wasn't anywhere near Solix.

As for that Worgen 'hunter' pissant, I agree-the kind of awesomeness I displayed could only mean I'd be mad bad n dangerous to know. Either that or he looked , saw 8 kills and didn't want to waste the ammo that no longer exists and had no rocks in his pockets to throw at me. Nah it was my slick moves…

I'm going to post pics of me taming one of the spirit cats-I have em both but they look alike to me. There is nothing sexier than a buck nekkid dwarf taming a spirit beast. Think about how many female priests that'll get me. I know I am.
