Talent Changes to Come

I'm new to this pretty fun little site, and it has helped me so far when it comes to my hunter, my favorite toon.

Anyway, I was listening to my weekly wow podcast that can be found at http://theinstance.net, and they covered a little bit on how Blizzard is working to change the talent trees, to revise talents that passively add to stats, such as Lethal Shots, for example, and reverting them to something more interesting. Thus, making no "cookie-cutter" builds, and making more interesting possibilities.

This is something that I think is a great idea, since I often complain and whine to fellow guild members when they ask "what is the current best build for so-and-so". A lot of people just look online for the "cookie-cutter" build (what I call the c-c build), use that exact build, and yet have no idea what their talents really do or do not fully understand how to play that spec. I always suggest to people to learn what each talent does and to experiment with different builds and for them to create their own build. They don't listen, and go for the c-c build, and they wonder how I out-dps them with a lower gear level and a uniquely created spec.

Back to the topic, I would like to know what everyone else thinks of these changes to come.

Hi Crimeweave,

I'm liking the direction they're taking with the talent changes. I like that we'll be able to spend a little deeper into a secondary tree.

The other thing that sounds intriguing is the new Archaeology talent, which will allow players to further specialize for a given niche. I imagine the supposed "best specs" will quickly emerge and be posted on the EJ forums, but perhaps there will be a few more choices at least.
