Just figured I would share something I picked up doing recently, soloing heroic mode BC instances. I love getting achievements and found I was missing quite a few from instance ones, mostly heroic mode ones from BC. Not many people were interested in helping me out, so I started looking into soloing them as BM Hunter.

After doing some reading I ventured forth with my trusty turtle, Tank Laughing So far we have conquered all except for some of the harder ones like Shattered Halls and Shadow Labs. Once those are beaten, Tank and I will move on to old school raids, like Molten Core and AQ.

Right on Takaas. I love doing that sort of thing myself. Not sure if you read my piece on soloing Mara at lvl 48 on my Orc Hunter, but that was one of the most fun and exciting challenges I've experienced in WoW.

Currently I'm tinkering around on a dwarf hunter toon I made back in vanilla. I made him to be the ultimate PvP machine, then eventually let him sit at around level 56 once Blizz restructured things and made BM awesome pre-TBC. I started playing Garwulf again and never looked back.

Experiencing the pre-Cataclysm doldrums, I decided it might be fun to level this guy via BGs and to also level enchanting. It's been a blast.

At any rate, the reason I mention this is because I've been leveling him 100% solo and have been doing 3 player group quests by myself in order to get some nice upgrades for PvP pew-pew. I'm having so much fun with him that I'm thinking of shutting off experience once again (as I did with my Orc) at 69 and trying my hand at some old world and maybe a few reg. TBC instances.

Anyway… I'm a huge fan of the hardcore soloing, so I endorse your post. icon_wink

I just stumbled upon some "extreme soloing" info today, and didnt really know hunter soloing was possible! My interest is peaked now… any suggestions on where I might learn more? It sounds like a lot of fun!

I've tried a few successfully with my spirit beast in BM, and would like to try more.  My son suggested collecting some of the older tier sets, especially t2, I believe?  I'll have to ask.  What are you going in with?

I go in with my current gear and enough PvP gear to get my resilience to about 350. The PvP gear also adds to stamina, which comes in handy. I also make sure I have buff food for myself and my pet, plus an endless rage flask.

Oh and I also take a tanking pet. Mine is a turtle. His shield has me multiple times. A bear or crocolisk may work too.

I'm very interested in this. Not to get too much into it, but I got RAF'd against my will  into the game by someone that pretty much dropped me. Yeah, they show up every now and again to do a pity run, but after and hour or so, the lure of ICC and better drops takes over and I'm solo again. It's left me bitter!

I'm pretty hard-headed, I've attempted to do a few already, but ultimately wiped pretty hard. I did pretty well on one in Temple of Atal'Hakkar when I was only a few levels higher than the mobs, but one bad pull and I was toast. Just for laughs I entered one of the really low level instances on Ogrimmar while level 55ish and I never even fired a single shot. I put my bear on Agressive and just ran around collecting mobs to be Thunderstomped into oblivion. Not very challenging, but a lot of fun! Laughing
