Hello fellow hunters!  I stumbled upon this site just recently and enjoyed the content it has to deliver so I decided to sign up for an account.  A bit of background about me, and a little bit of a trip down memory lane:

I've been playing since release when melee Hunters were the "in thing" (lol-lacerate).  I leveled a Night Elf to 60 on Wildhammer shortly after the server opened, which took forever by the way, being that this was my first MMO and leveling back then was already excruciating enough. My typical day on WoW at 60 was running 10 man Scholomance, 10 man Stratholme, and 15 man UBRS for pre-tier gear.  Also along with the occasional Dire Maul runs and tribute runs because lets face it, DM had some of the most bad ass hunter gear in there, period.  Indulged in some of the finest "world pvp" this game had to offer, yes ladies and gentlemen, Southshore vs Tarren Mill, and last but not least, skilling up professions.  Anyway after obtaining all the end game I was capable of it started to get a bit boring.  What does one do when that happens? Troll realm forums, check out chat windows for guilds recruiting! Also the new honor system had just been released so there I go starting to pvp grind for gear and other goodies.  Anyone remember when BGs were realm only and the release of AV when you would queue for an AV go to sleep log on later and queue into the very same AV? lol that was hysterical.  By the way, I ended up grinding out rank 11 for the sole purpose of only paying 90g for an epic mount, well worth the grind.  Stopped at rank 11 and didnt grab GM rank.  Oh well.  Also got exalted with all the BGs to end up getting Justicar title before it was implemented.

I apply and ultimately join one of the most awesome guilds I've ever encountered, Zero Charisma.  I get a trial run in MC and get a few pieces of purples that were going to get dusted anyway.  I was a happy camper.  ZC at the time already had MC on farm, so we go on to tackle BWL.  Raided all through vanilla with my new pals clearing MC, ultimately clearing BWL (alliance first if I remember correctly).  I went on to become the alliance 2nd full tier2 hunter and server 1st hunter with an Ashkandi with a few other hunters later on getting an opportunity to grab one. We start to tackle AQ40 and end up merging with another guild (keeping our name).  We get C'thun on farm and start working on Naxx but after a few months, the merger folds and BC is about to release.  I get in with another raiding guild called Fist of Entropy, get my crossbow from Chromaggus in BWL and just raid here an there waiting for BC.

BC drops, I quit hunter, leveled a BE pally to 70 end up letting that account go and finally leveled my hunter to 70 with a few other alts also.  Clear through all BC content with FoE and quit BC with 6/8 Tier 4, bow from Illidan etc etc.

Wrath drops and I go on to become a hordie and level yet another hunter, mage, druid, and warrior to max level, became a casual and ultimately quit WoW right before cataclysm.  Anyway I'm back now, playing with a few remaining Zero Charisma pals on Ner'zhul and got my undaed  mage to 85 and now working on a 3rd hunter, goblin this time.  What can I say, hunter class keep drawing me back, and I am liking all this new stuff we get to play with. There's my story, hope to get some good reads in on this forum, it looks promising.

Great background story Azusa — thanks for sharing. icon_biggrin

I wasn't bit by the raiding bug until TBC, so I was strictly a BG rat in vanilla. Kudos for reaching rank 11! I had hoped to achieve it, but ended up throwing in the towel at rank 10. That ladder system was brutal!

Welcome to the forums! icon_biggrin

Welcome to the Lodge, Azusa.

A question… how did you WoW for 6 years as a hunter and only just now stumble across this wonderful family?…. I mean site!

Truly, it matter's not. You're here now, and a Lodger you are, at long last!

Cheers

Don't feel bad. I've been playing a Hunter since WoW was first released and just found this site in the past year.

My introduction to great Hunters blogs was actually Big Red Kitty (BRK) who sadly does not blog anymore. It was there I saw how much the Hunter community bands together. When he retired from playing and blogging I went looking and found Warcraft Hunters Union. While a great site for information, I did not find a forums to discuss things with other Hunters. After sifting through some other sites I came across this site. I've been hooked ever since. Aside from my guild's home page, this is the only other site I visit every day.

Welcome to the forums Azusa!  I found this place while googling Hunters about a year ago.  Great people who are always willing to help.   First place I check in the mornings and where I leave off at night.

Welcome to the joint Azusa. Tis a good place. I found it when I googled punters and inadvertanly typed in hunters. Boy was I lucky! Ever since that fateful day my obsession with ball kickers is gone, I've kicked my heroin addiction (now only on meth) and most importantly, my ballroom dancing skills have increased ten fold! Blessed, I am truly blessed and you are most fortunate to have stumbled upon this place.

Not knowing you aren't supposed to be able to achieve something often ensures that you will.   Book of Agio 22:2

Thanks again icon_smile

I forgot to mention a memorable moment in my original post.  The quest line for Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers and Lok'delar, Stave of the Ancient Keepers, was probably the most fun, rewarding, and accomplishing thing I have ever done in this game.  I would LOVE for Blizzard to do something like this again.  Even if they use the same NPCs for the demons, just "buffed" to 85, with a new weapon set for rewards.  That would be so awesome.

I completely agree.  Niika had some of the components she needed, and I just wasn't paying attention and one day, they were gone.  It felt so sad.  I do hope they bring back some of the old class quests; maybe they will after seeing the popularity of the taming challenges with hunters now.

I sorta secretly visit the Hunter trainer every so often, just to look and see if there's a new class quest to do. There are still some low level ones available I guess I never completed, but I've been too lazy to do them yet, lol.
