OfflineHello brothers and sisters of the Wild.
I'm fairly new and I seem to miss alot of info about how to be the best hunter I can be. I have a level 71 Blood Elf Hunter and I'd like to know at what level of gear and weapons I should be at right now, to know if I'm on the right path or if I could improve. Just in general terms (ballpark). Secondly, where can I get the gear I need at my level. I seem to get wipped easily in BG's. Is there tips on saving my skin more often, ways to play??? I know this is general and can lead to long answers bjut I just need to know where I stand.
Thanks alot in advance for your precious help.

OfflineHi Anarys,
My suggestion would be to go after the Brutal Gladiator pieces right now. You can purchase them with honor from the PvP vendor in Org. The cost is pretty cheap and the gear will serve you well for a few more levels — both in PvP and for dungeons. Swap out some of the pieces with the assorted blues you'll obtain in Northrend via quests and dungeons. Once you reach around level 78 you can pick up some Swift Arrow pieces off the auction house, as well as some of the lower level Cataclysm greens and blues.

Is this the character name you play under and what server are you on? If we can look up your armory we can take a peek at if your heading down the right path.

It might also help if you explain whether you are interested in PvE or PvP or both. You mentioned BG's but I can't tell whether that was for gear or if you are looking to grow a pvp hunter. Also, do you plan to level to 85?
For PvE at 71, as referenced by Gar, if you get it Northrend and it has agility on it – put it on! Get gear by doing the quests and if you enjoy dailies, and rep grinding, you can buy a lot of gear that way. If you are leveling to 85, just quest in Northrend until you get high enough to start doing Cata quests. You will replace EVERYTHING you got in Northrend within a couple of hours of doing Cata quests. When you hit 85, its time to que for random dungeons, then random heroics, then LFR, and then OMG your a raiding hunter!
PVP – just get your butt to 85 and run Random BG's. Hunters leave those with more honor points than they can carry – good thing we have pets. Buy honor gear until you can replace it all with Conquest gear.

OfflineHello Hunter friends.
I knew I could count on you for help! Thanks for all the great advice. It's hard to know what to do when you haven't played for that long.
Garwulf.
Thanks brother!
Takaas.
Yes it is the character's name, (sorry can't remember the server name or go check right now) I'm in the game by the North American server(Canada). Does that help??? My character might be all screwed up, I don't know. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I play both PvE and PvP. I adore BG's and it is mostly for growth, experience and fun.
NOTE: How can I murder Rogues?!!!
Thanks to all, the Wild calls.

OfflineI'm hoping this armory profile is you. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/ch…..rys/simple
If it is here are some things you need to change:
(1) Your bracers (wrist), gloves, ring (second slot), trinket (second slot) and the sword. Spirit, Intellect and Strength do nothing for Hunters. Replace these ASAP.
(2) Tweak you spec a bit. Drop the two points in Pathfinding and put them in Longevity. It will definately help out with your damage.
(3) Make sure you are using all the points in your pets talent tree that they have so far. Almost all your pets are not using their current full amount of talent points.

OfflineHello T.
Thanks alot for the info. Great stuff. It's nice not to be in the dark anymore. Will follow the advice.
Again thanks for helping a stranger and being generous with your time. I might ask for help from time to time, but I won't be a pest! There is sooooo much to know and I've only been at it for a few months. It seems the more I learn the less I know of . My next stop is installing macros and practicing my movement abilities. I've had enough of being stuck in the back by rogues, ripped by feral druids, zapped by mages, etc…. It's time I start kicking their collective arses!!!
See you in the woods,
Anarys
