I need your help guys, I know this is old news, but contrary to what I’ve read, I seem to be producing much higher DPS using Darkmoon Card: Hurricane + Essence of the Cyclone as my Trinkets, rather than using Fluid death + Cyclone.

I’ve got Fluid Death in my bags and I switch it out from time to time for live action testing. Unless I’m just too drunk (I learned from Dwarves!) it sure seems my numbers drop with Fluid Death in place of the Card.

I’m not good at testing on the dummies. I’d love to be better at it and any advice you can give on how to efficiently conduct my own tests and parse the results is appreciated. I’ve been following advice I see here, on WHU, and other Hunter resources and doing pretty darn well if I say so myself, but I think I need to take that next step and start contributing, even in my own small way.

Thanks.

Ozzie… do you ever use battle logs at all?  That will give you concrete numbers.  Using raid analysis logs (/combatlog uploaded to worldoflogs.com and you can go over your damage, what's affecting what, and what's proc'ing all over the place.  Then you can compare the two fights.

I'm not fond of dummies either.  Give me real meat to kill.

I am ever forgetful of recording thos, Niiky >.< Feels like we haven't raided in weeks but I will definitely be starting that as a regular habit with our next run of any kind. I've heard you know quite a bit about parsing WoL data, so you can instruct me whenever you have a free moment, lol. I know you have LOTS of those, right?

Honestly, spread sheeting it is the best way to answer it, using a tool like SimCraft or Zehera's DPS analyzer(If she's kept it up at least), testing on a fight per fight basis with WoL will still take a lot of fights to nail down what's better over all due to the sheer amount of RNG involved, you're looking at literally day's worth of combat time needed to smooth it all out.
