Being a lousy hunter is not an easy thing to achieve regardless of level. In fact the skills and practice involved can be downright overwhelming. So as with any worthwhile goal, it's best to take baby steps and so we shall.

First off we need to get you into the proper mindset. Remember; it's never your fault.

No matter what happens, be it kissing the spirit healer 11 times in a row on one specific quest (to be covered in part six), causing a raid wipe by trying to repeatedly freeze trap the tank or even something as simple as accidentally dismounting while in mid-air and plunging to your death. Say while you are zooming around the Twilight Highlands mining for pyrite. Regardless what your failings are remember; they are never your fault.

There are three primary things that form the proper mindset. Read them, study them, memorize them until they inhabit the very fibre of your being. Fixate on them until they blaze through your brain like a shooting star over the night skies of Azeroth.

They are as follows:

1. Blame it on your Gear.

2. Bad Latency (Lag)

3. A Blizzard Bug.

As remembering these three things can in itself impede your path to mediocrity I have, through my own experience developed the following mnemonic. I have it keybound but that's a personal choice.

"Bag A Slow Spider"

The sentence should be self-evident however given what we are striving for here, I want all of you to have crystal clarity as to the relationship of the three and the mnemonic.

Bag=Bad Gear. A=A. Slow=Lag. Spider=Bug.

Don't let the 'A' in there throw you off. It did me for some time as I overreached and tried using the acronym BASS for the mnemonic "Bag A Slow Spider"  but got so confused I kept whipping out my fishing pole in the strangest of places. Another lesson there. Know your limitations and keep your expectations low.

With patience and practice you can and will achieve the proper mindset and be ready for the next steps on this, the most incredible of journeys.

Not knowing you aren't supposed to be able to achieve something often ensures that you will.   Book of Agio 22:2
