I’m posting this for the sake of Arnold’s love child (big WoW player) and as thanks to the people here at the lodge so if you’re an epic solo-artist there’s probably nothing worthwhile here. If you’re new or relatively so and like soloing you may find the information life changing.

As most of you know and don’t care and those that don’t know and won’t care I play WoW entirely solo-in fact I am a soloing machine. Okay, I’m actually the WoW version of the beater gremlin in ‘Wayne’s World’ without the decent stereo.

I also enjoy poking fun at the so-called ‘serious’ aspect of this game which seems to upset some. Huge bonus that. But when I hunter I do my best to be at least average and I hate failing which is why I quit school when I was 4 to avoid getting expelled from kindergarten.

Currently I am in the midst of soloing; okay attempting to solo all the WotLK 5 mans on Heroic along with getting the bizarre Blizzard achievements they come with. Oh yeah, on that… Culling of Stratholme Heroic Timed for that stupid Drake. Current score: CoS-16 Agio-0. Frown

One of the encounters that takes place in Halls of Stone is protecting a chatty dwarf while he mucks about with some kind of database or whatever. If you don't know, the achievement available on Heroic is Brann Spankin' New

I had been unable to complete the damn quest on Heroic before I even knew about this achievement. Failed four times at it as a matter of fact. I know, I know, so lame. When I found out about the achievement, given I couldn’t even do the basic quest I naturally decided I’d get it as well. Hope springs eternal and all that crap.

For me, this wasn’t going to be any L85 solo duckwalk like my acing of Gnomeregan naked was. However I have learned a fair amount since I started playing WoW a little over a year ago, primarily from this site and the people who contribute to it. Still do as a matter of fact.

In respect to the above event & achievement I had what you call an ‘ah ha’ moment sparked by a comment Niika made about PvP’ing. I could even see the 25 watt bulb light up over my head. Ganged with lawman30’s great post about taming Terrorpene when he was a wee level 81-all of which I forgot when I was actually taming the Peener to Drach’s what I deem essential article about trapping and probably a bunch of other tidbits from the regulars on here.

Drach went into great detail about optimizing trapping skills that was very helpful, and yeah, it took some practice to even get half-assed decent at some of his suggestions but it’s been well worth it trying to be proficient at that hunter skill. Lawman30 had some great stuff pertaining to surviving, an important thing, some would say essential and Nikka gave me the final touches with her comment about parking her pet over in a corner on aggressive while she was in camo and whackin squishies. I had never thought of placing my pet in a specific, essentially static spot on aggressive. Remember, I’m an average newbie hunter suffering a “Flask of the Winds” addiction which impedes my thought process.

So I figure for this gig I twink buffs a wee bit per Lawman, park Ghostcrawler on aggressive in just the right spot per Niika and trap my lil albeit taut sexy dwarven butt off per Drach.

Suffice to say I completed the quest and yay me, I got the achievement on the first pass. The chirpy dwarf had nary a scratch and I got my cookie. Which by the way I would not have managed had I not failed the 4 times previously and did the event on normal couple months back. Good advice or not failing is how ya learn so don’t let those leet you tube vids with incredibly bad music fool you. You want to see the ‘Directors Cut’ on those puppies Wink

I won’t go into detail as to the incredible skills I brought to the table when all the aforementioned info gelled in my hunter brain even though they were… well incredible. Some would saw awe-inspiring, majestically marvelous or just downright superbly scary. My pet applauded. You ever see a crab clap?

It wasn’t particularly elegant; in fact it was more of a beautiful trainwreck, but man it was fun for a few insane minutes, especially near the end when all dwarf and golem hell breaks loose. Talk about Crowd Control. I do believe I looked like a spastic dwarf on speed whilst the action was goin on. If you’ve not soloed this on Heroic and are an average player like me, give this event a try. It’s a challenging achievement and great fun.

So to the lodge, starting of course with Gar and the people here who take the time to try and help other hunters my personal thanks for all the help. I keep learning new stuff.

And to all you new and maybe not so new hunter lurkers, don’t be afraid to ask here. No-one is an asshat or too full of themselves and do yourself a favor, read what the people write (exclude me because may God help you if you ever follow any of my ‘advice’). A tidbit here and there can make a big difference in your game which makes it more fun.

Besides, where else can you find anyone that is a walking pet encyclopedia like Anj or lawman30’s enthusiasm which frankly tires me out just reading or CrimsonG with rep grind tips, fashion pointers from the muses to Takaas, who… well just keeps achieving shit on an aggravatingly fast level to name but a few. It’s a good joint.

Lastly I’d like to thank the Academy and of course my parents for their tireless belief in me, my two ex-wives for forcing me to play Wow as a stress reliever and lastly, my ace cat Frank. Laughing

Dude… those be paladins.  Puff they chest out even further and feel proud about slapping some plate to the ground.  Sit back 'round the hunter fire and quietly tell the tale as you are so adept at spinning.

Now, Agio…. darlin… reread your above post.  You are recognizing that your growth out in the wilds, as a ranger in your realm, soloing content and mastering the Beast within, is due in small part, to tips shared and tips gained here at the Lodge.

You *are* part of a Guild.  THIS guild, this collective consciousness of hunters, unburdened by ego, heartened by tales of laughter over foibles, and ultimately, trying and trying again.  You are in OUR guild.  You may play solo, but you do not play alone.

Hugs and hunts  <3

Aww… thanks for the heartfelt "Dittos" y'all. I could feel the love, especially from the Screaming Bees. It made me all misty n such so I give to you the following in appreciation and Lonely Dwarf so we can share a big ol' group hug in funky dwarf rhythm. Launch and sing along folks. I get so emotional over 'dittos'…..

I’m just a lonely dwarf

an I got the blues

I’d hang with the bees

But I aint got the shoes

I’ve got everything

you could think of

but all I want

are shoes the bees love

So get me, yes, get me some shoes

shoes that are bold

shoes that will please,

a fashion conscious muse

I yearn to hear

the bee hunters say

“you can hunt with us, all night and day”

I'm just a lonely dwarf
an I got the blues
I’d hang with the bees

But I ain’t got the shoes

I’ve got everything

you could think of

but all I want

are shoes the bees love

Somebody, somebody, somebody please

get me some shoes

make a dwarf happy, please stop these blues

I've prayed so hard..

for the right shoes to drop
but all I get is plate crap… I sell at a shop

I'm just a lonely dwarf
an I got the blues
I’d hang with the bees

But I aint got the shoes

lol,   this is an amazing example of how everyone plays the game to their own circumstances.   Doesn't always have to be the mainstream to enjoy what you do.

You'd think after being around here for months I would pick up on some writing pointers from all of you too.  But alas  I have not.   Glad you are a part of this wonderful family.   Even when I go on my disappearing acts,   I know I can come back here at an point and meet up with great friends and people who enjoy the class as much as I do.

Advice is given on many different levels,  it's all about how you apply it to your own style and life that makes them worthwhile!

Writing pointers?  Pshaw, Cel, your writing is different, direct, accurate, and to the point.  There is room in this world for all types of excellents.

Aggie, aggie, aggie… Terribly sorry I missed your lovely lyrics of love and shoes.  Might I return with a tempo of my own for you?  Please, sing to the turn of "Bad to the Bone" if you will…

Aggio's Theme Song…

"On the day I was born, the hunters all gathered 'round

And they gazed in wide wonder, at the shoeless wonder they had found

The Guild Leader spoke up, and she said leave this one alone

She could tell right away, that I was bad to be Bees

Bad to be Bees

Bad to be Bees

B-B-B-B-Bad to be Bees

B-B-B-B-Bad

B-B-B-B-Bad

Bad to be Bees

I broke a thousand bows, before I met you

I'll break a thousand more baby, before I am through

I wanna be yours Screaming Bees, yours and yours alone

I'm here to tell ya Niika, that I'm bad to the bone

Bad to be Bees

B-B-B-Bad

B-B-B-Bad

B-B-B-Bad

Bad to be Bees

I make a rich Ozzie beg, I'll make a good Anjie steal

I'll make ole' Drachish blush, and make a young Celika squeal

I wanna be yours pretty guild, yours and yours alone

I'm here to tell ya honey, that I'm bad to be Bees

B-B-B-B-Bad

B-B-B-B-Bad

B-B-B-B-Bad

Bad to be Bees

Bud if I ever joined the bees your problems would be solved given how bad I play. You'd be blushing for me. Course that would make you a big ol' softie……
