Today I was banned from the World of Wacraft, 5 hours ago from posting this thread my account was banned. I received an e-mail from Blizzard telling me that I had been permanently suspended from the game. The reason was they said I had been using Hacks and Cheats to get an unfair advantage over other players, however I have not used any add ons hacks or cheats in my entire life. I've had this exact same account for 6 years and 11 months now. I have never been banned before. I tried appealing the ban but they won't give up, they still say with their copy and paste replies "Our decision still stands" even after explaining that this ban must've been a mistake. People say oh it's just a game get over it, WoW is my life. Sure I could start a new character but no it's not the same, all those years of grinding, questing, pvping, collecting mounts, all gone. Blizzard, you've made a big mistake.

Someone didn't hack into your account did they? Quite awhile back someone hacked into my account and did some things that made Blizzard ban my account for a bit. I remember it being a pain in the arse to get it un-banned, although at the moment I can't remember what I had to do. *It was back towards the start of Burning Crusade.*

Did you allow anyone else access to your account? (Sibling/family member/friend) I had a nephew that I allowed on to my account, trusting he would behave and he go in trouble for going on my characters and selling stuff from the guild bank to make gold for his character.

I've let no one in to my account ever since I bought it. It's only been me playing on it no one else.

Wilbo, my account was hacked and I had not given anyone my information either. I did, however, not have an authenticator at the time. Do you have an authenticator attached to your account? I'd highly suggest getting one if you do not. Then again, since you've been suspended, it may be too late. Try calling the Blizzard hotline.

Well I tried attatching my mobile authenticator about 2 weeks ago but I attatched it and it got removed like 12 hours later however I ignored it and just went back to playing. I might've had a keylogger I don't know. I've called them and they say "oh sorry to hear that I will send you an e-mail as to why this has happened"

It does sound like you were hacked hun. Rather than focus on the ban (which will get you no where since your account is out of your hands anyways) I would focus on 1) getting your account back and 2) making it secure/authenticating it.

Through this process, I would also scan your hard drive with security software, both for keyloggers, as well as for spybots, etc.  Be aware that you should also change email and account passwords as well.

Complaining about being banned wont' get you anywhere.  Focusing on what happened, and correcting it, and protecting yourself from future attempts will.  I saw somewhere from Blizzard that the vast majority of stolen accounts were from people who had never once shared account information – willingly.

I did reclaim my account and I submitted an account recovery form but after making yet another ticket 1) They confirmed that the ban will not be overturned 2) They threatened to ban my whole battle.net account in violation of their GM interaction policy. I did do a virus scan and McAfee removed a couple of things, not sure what they were though. I even tried explaining to Blizzard that I had been hacked and they still say reply with copy+paste replies like "After an investigation this account's ban will not be overturned" or something like that.
