Hi,

I have been trying to upload an avatar and failing miserably.  (I am a little technically challenged)…

 

I reduced the image to the icon_eekpixels it says it has to be that size. The image uploads correctly. But still, it doesn't show. Still just that green dragon.

 

Help? icon_smile

Hi, I am having this problem as well. Seems no matter what I try I can't upload an avatar. Under icon_eek pixels and 2000kb and still get an error. Me sad Cry

ok I was never able to upload one but I can use a remote avatar. I guess that will do.

2000kb..?! No wonder. No way can I let people use 2MB avatars. A standard avatar shouldn't need to be more than 50kb.

My user upload limit is set to about 250k I believe. This is absolutely necessary, or else I'd eventually have to go to a dedicated. Ninety bucks a month is my limit as far as hosting fees go. icon_wink

Sorry for necro'ing this thread, but perhaps it'll help a few others out in future. icon_smile

I was just going by what it said the limit was. That's what it told me. Thanks for letting me know it's lower. I'll try another one.

 

edit: lol I meant bytes not kbytes in my original post.

No worries… and the bytes/kb thing makes sense.

For a minute there, I was imagining you trying to upload a stock photo from Getty Images or something. lol.
