Survival dps And BM dps - Builds, Talents and Class Mechanics - Hunter Forums

I was just curious to see what everyone else with SV is getting dps. On a targetting dummy I can get my guy to hold 8-8.3k dps in a minute, but as soon as I go into random heroics where the mob only has 65k health, he dies to quick and my dps usually is around 5k, goes up after longer boss fights. My rotation is mark, serpent sting, black arrow, explosive shot, then steady, steady, steady, explosive. On less health mobs should i use arcane and explosive instead of black arrow and serpent since it's such a short fight? I haven't done a ICC since patch so I don't know what my dps in there is.

For BM my shot rotation is mark, serpent, kill, arcane, arcane, steady steady kill etc…I was gonna use my bm just for pvp since I got a spirit pet for healing. Will BM out dps my SV in raid. Note* I put my hit into mastery until I was one point below cap, then all crit into haste on the rest, I am gonna change crit into mastery as well. Thanks

K thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure I was not missing out on something. I did notice however, in random heroics, where there isn't a warrior to out dps me, my dps is around 4.5 to 5 on trash mobs cause my stings can do more damage and I get off more shots. If there is another well geared melee dps then my dps goes way down to like 3.5 cause he is making the fight go way faster. So in short fights I found BM did more damage cause I have more burst speed.
