But AGAIN I had to listen to another hunter lecture me on why I should gem ArP… and even a freakin shammy when i asked him to cut my my AGI gems had to throw in "wouldnt ArP be better for a MM hunter?" Then it was you should go SV with your gear, blah blah blah…. geez!
I do have Hersir's greatspear in the bank (+109 ArP) but its a good bit of a stat loss over my Distant land, and a huge DPS loss on dummies. Guess I can try that in my next raid, see if it makes a difference? IDK…. Arent they removing ArP in cata anyway?? Should I even be worrying about this so close to xpac?
How low of dps are we talking?

4-5k Tak, no matter what trink I had equipped…. the lat was so bad some shots weren't even getting off. I put in a ticket, hoping it's resolved by sundays run. It's definitely on the server end, since my husband is an IT director and says our connection is running perfect.
Thankfully the usual raid leader was not there to witness, and since I still managed to pull off my most important roles in the raid (freezing arrow tacticians, frost trap saurfang adds, keepin kinetic orbs off the ground etc etc,) everyone understood and was way cool about it. We made it to the blood queen before calling it!
Shamefully I admit I looked into respec'n my BM spec this morning, to SV. I have never tried SV, and was curious to see if I really would do better in that spec. Made the changes, tonight i'm going to try and learn the rotation, see if it's worth it. I suspect I will not fall instantly in love and will be raiding in MM again by the end of the weekend lol.

Oh yea it was def lat issues, because normally in 25 im between 8-10k depending on the fight. Just logged in after messing with my PC and still hitting 
0ms Lat. total BS!

Call your internet provider and see if there's anything going on with the lines, often these problems are caused by them working on the lines.

Something funky has to be going on. I ran into the EXACT same thing you are. I can pull 7-10k without batting an eye, and I was so impeccably slow, missing everything in vent, and at one point, completely missed a pull because I completely locked up. My ping was horrible one second, then dead on the next. I use Comcast; which provider are you suing?

I have Advanced Cable, in South FL.
We arent the only ones either, I know of a few people who have been havin issues since tuesdays reset. I'm pretty sure it isnt my cable because i'm not having any issues outside of game with my net. But who knows. Will be calling on Monday if it doesnt get better.
I always run around 150-200 lat because it's wireless, and the modem and router are upstairs, my PC is downstairs. But I have never had more than that and its damn near impossible to play with like this!
On another note, I ran a few randoms as SV tonight. Can't say im crazy about it so far, but I did hit 7k single target, which for a 5man isnt too shabby! Gonna mess around with it some more, see how it goes. Maybe try it in 1st wing of ICC 10 on sunday since I could do that wing with my eyes closed now =/

That's a cool idea. I'm holding off on my SV test until Cat. I flip and flop with the other hunter on who is doing better in raids, and her gear is a tiny bit better than mine, so I'm cool with that, however, last night's run was stupid with the latency. I am sure that you are right and it's somehow related to all this Catamess, however, I am also experiencing latency issues with work files as well, so thinking I need to replace my 3-year old modem or something.

After putting in a ticket thurs night, and then using the blizz website to submit a report last night, today my Lat was magically back to normal. Leads me to assume it was the server, and am impressed with blizz for fixing it so fast if that was the case. So tomorrow's raid is a go for me and I look forward to seeing what I can do

That is wonderful, Malice. Mine was the modem, but then again, I had a hunch. I'm sure it's due to the changes in the area, however, since I am not the only Comcast subscriber to be facing the lag issues (My work systems were also affected.)
I would love to hear how it goes for you with SV. I was thinking last night, that while hunters appear to need the least amount of variety in our gear, we need the most variety in our specs, and we really should be able to have six or seven, don't you think?

I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one deal with horrid latency last week!
Malice- I recently went through the same Survi vs MM – Agi vs Arm Pen transition myself. Only I was Survi and hit the wall to make the switch to MM. From everything I have read or found (and I'm not by any means know all of any of this) is that the 'Magic number" to start thinking about gemming all Arm Pen is around 0-900 passive. On Average if a person goes all Arm Pen Gems it gets you about 400. (unless you are JC or BS for the extra slots). Don't know if that number would help you make any decision, but the other think to remember about Arm Pen is that last 1300-1400 range the value is increased substantially.
I went MM because I was sitting at 0 Passive and getting beat out by our MM hunter. What ended up happening is our third Survi Hunter then started topping the charts on both of us! Ultimately if you like MM better and you're pulling those numbers… keep the game fun as stated by others previously. Also if the Survi Hunter is over riding you're Improved Hunter's mark that isn't benefiting either of you. (Personal experience, they wanted it to be THEIR mark hehe.)

Well unfortunately we had a couple noshows and the run was called, it's always something right!?! But I did get my first opportunity to tank ICC with my DK in a 25man so the night wasnt a total loss lol.
Anyway, another run tomorrow night, so maybe i'll get to test SV then!
My new issue (haha always have one in some form), is I am sitting pretty on 100 frost badges. Now I keep reading that the t10 4pc set bonus is the way to go, currently only have 2. The next 2 t10 pieces (chest and hands, cuz im not giving up my draconic legs!) are not upgrades over my longstriders or logsplitters, and even the sanc hands will dlose me like 60 some ArP if i'm lucky enuff to get a token to upgrade them soon…. so is this worth it? on a 5% chance for the 4pc bonus to proc? I was thinking either buy the chest and wait to equip til I get a token to upgrade, and work on the hands in the meantime… ORRR I could use em for a shiny new pvp piece!
I don't want to waste the frost… but I dont want to use em on a t10 if the bonus isnt really worth it, when I could get that nice new PVP helm =/

The 4 piece really is the way to go. Now if you have equal two gear, I wouldn't wear them till you have 4 t 10 peices. When you get all 4 Head- Shoulders – chest- Gloves doesn't matter if it's 251 or 264 wear them!

If i'm trying to reach 0 ArP with gear wouldnt losing 63 pts (even with the HEROIC t10 hands I just noticed!) be counterproductive tho??
