please help me pimp my dps - Builds, Talents and Class Mechanics - Hunter Forums

Hi Mistax, welcome to the Lodge.

I've had a look at you, I think (Mal'Ganis?) and your gear seems fine, if not good. I notice your Hit Rating is a little over 8% so I'm wondering if you are having DPS problems in Heroics or Raiding.

If Raiding, the first thing to look at would be to reforge to 17% Hit. 

I am not the best theorycrafter this site has to offer, and when Garwulf wades in he'll advise you a whole lot better than I can, (in a way that educates me too, which I appreciate…) however, 

My understanding is that stat priority in 4.3 is Hit to cap, Agility, Crit, Mastery, Haste

You have a few opportunities to reforge into that priority. You have a few items where you have reforge from Master into Haste. I would suggest restoring those items. Remember Mastery directly increases the damage your pet does, and as a BM you would want to maximise that.

The other thing to look at would be your shot priority/rotation. As a BM, Kill Command is your most potent "shot" so you should have something to let you know when it is available. Power Auras is great for letting you know things like that and is very versatile. You also want to use Bestial Wrath liberally, ideally when you are at full focus. While under BW you want to be using Arcane Shot… it costs less during BW uptime. If you tend to forget your cooldowns you can macro BW to Arcane Shot and Multi Shot, so if it's available when you are using those shots it will go off automatically for you.

as an example. You could also add buff pots and such if you like, but I wouldn't cos it gets real expensive, real quick.

Don't forget Fervor. Best used when focus has been depleted while under BW to extend the pain.

The other things you could do (if you don't already) is use the Agility or Critical Strike Flask (forget their names) and Skewered Eel at the beginning of every dungeon.

While the rest is pretty sound advice, I'm confused by this part. His hit rating is a tad bit over what is needed for raiding, but I myself would not mess with it. He should be fine in that area.

 

When I looked at him his Hit was at 8.24%… Hang on… I may be confused with casters needing 17%… I've been playing my Shaman recently…

 

Ok, Hit is fine but still look at reforging out of Haste and into Mastery of Crit isn't available.
