Hi guys, i've posted here previously awhile back, and I got some pretty good advice, but I was wondering, should I use Survival or Marksman? I might be doing ICC 10 tonight for the first time, and I want to be at my best in dps.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Stick with survival for now.

A lot of places on the internet recommend MM as the only raiding spec, but really it's very even until the highest gear levels, or you at least have an average gear level of 232 with a 245 weapon or better. With what you have right now you are better off sticking with SV although the NES you carry is more of a MM trink. If you have something like the ilvl 200 Mirror of Truth it might even be better for you right now to use it as it procs an AP bonus rather than an arpen bonus.

Plus with SV you give a raid mana regen bonus which is very nice for all the mana dependant people in your raid.

Seconding what Tisana said, if only for the main reason that right before a main raid is NOT the time to change specs.

psst, gonna get that Alchemy up there? The Northrend alchemy buffs are awesome for raids! icon_biggrin

Thanks guys, yeah, I got the Mirror of Truth, just afraid to use it cause it might drop my gears score :/

Yeah, gotta get my alchemy up too lol D: I orginally had 450 mining, but I realized that was sort of useless

So Survival is best to stick with for now? When is the best time to switch to MM?

Should I switch Mark of Supremacy over to Mirror of Truth?

Test things out. Equip Mirror of Truth, but hold on to your old trinket. Then see if your dps increases or decreases. Don't just look at it and say, "BAH! That's no good because it has a lower gear score!"

I'm going to give an example on why. Currently I am running http://www.wowhead.com/item=50117

When Ruby Sanctum came out, I got http://www.wowhead.com/item=54566

Now by just looking at them, you would think the Twlight shoulders was better because of a higher item level, BUT after testing them for quite awhile I found it was a dps decrease from the Ahn'kahar because it broke the 2pc set bonus I was getting from having the head and shoulders from the Ahn'kahar set.

I still use a ilvl200 trinket even though I have enough emblems to buy something with a higher ilvl because first and foremost, I hate gearscore and love nothing more than smashing the recount meters when grouping with people who are 500 or more points ahead in GS, and mostly because I care more about what is useful to me rather than what has a higher number.

With MoT you should see an average proc of about 1 per minute (with the amount of crits hunters get) and thats nothing to sneeze at when compared with the 2 minute cooldown of MoS plus it doesn't overload you with hit, but rather gives crit as it's passive bonus.
