Lvl 80 hunter coming back, used to MM&Surv. now lost with trying BM for the first time. - Builds, Talents and Class Mechanics - Hunter Forums

I hadn't been playing for quite a while, but when the new patch dropped I started up again figuring it will be a fresher game.  And it is, I'm not complaining about DPS adjustments and Focus replacing Mana, etc.  None of that matters, the game should change, shouldn't be the exact same thing for years.

No, my issue is that I played Survival almost the entire time, then eventually switched to MM to not match the other hunter in my usual raid group; I never played BM all the way up to lvl.  So my gear is decent, and I'm usually an ok player, but I didn't level on BM like a lot of people, and now in switching to it for the first time am getting crushed all over the place.

I've tried checking guides and all, but none have helped, they all say the same, essentially that this is what everyone already knows so we aren't going to explain it.

I have reviewed rotations and talents excessively, and I trapped Arcturis as another pet, but even still either he or I or both of us get killed even just on solo elites sometimes, far too often.  DPS is slightly down, but I can adjust for that as I'm more used to it.  It just doesn't make sense to me that this is supposed to be so straightforward.

Thought I may as well ask for advice here, though I expect the typical responses.
