I am so in love with my new Marksman spec, and I don't even have it all glyphed out, or my pets spec'd.  it is *fast* and decisions are made rapidly, and feel so instinctive to me now.  My heroic dungeon damage increased pretty substantially.  I am interested to read up on glyphs and pet spec'ing as well.

It also felt great to know that I was toping the charts without using volley.  That part was very nice.

Sure wish I knew what u spec'd! I tried to use "common sense" to spec mal and her pet, and I hit the dummy for barely 6k…. not sure if thats good, and afraid to try a heroic til I'm all glyphed and stuff!

Well don't feel too bad, now that everything has changed everything is going to be a mess… noone knows what to spec with the new talents and I'm scared to death to do it on my own! I'm a fail talent chooser so I'm just going to go with what feels right and then wait a good while for things to get tested and figured out before I do the final respec. Deff staying MM though, SV is too confusing and I wouldn't give up BM for ANYTHING!

Cel, I logged around 11 last night, had to get up at 5am this morning to do taxes.  Taking a break now.  There must have been some on in Bees?  Did you ask for an invite?  Everyone was so wandering around bemoaning their losses, it was funny as hell.  I thought our main tanks were going to cry like their home team had lost the Superbowl, yet another paladin logged in and suddenly thought she was going to take over the world with her changes.  It's so funny.

I had some GREAT advice from someone who's been on the development team for Cat for a while: DON"T CARE cuz it's GONNA CHANGE!  It's incredibly freeing.  I grabbed Frostheim's MM talent tree, took Shmii's advice on a BM tree, and flung poop at my wolf's tree and it stuck.  Everything will fall into place guys, it will!  And before it will, things will change many many times!

I can't remember how many times during BC and Wrath that I would log in to find my talent points reset due to numerous changes by Blizzard.  Don't get too married to whatever you do.

This is a new game folks, just look at it as Christmas Morning!!!! *dances*

I have Marks as my offspec I haven't tried it out yet, having too much fun with the new BM.  I love the new kill command, it's finally back to being a damaging attack again.  Also BW with focus is awesome even with out the immunity to snares an such.  I need to remember my scattershot though!  I'm not used to having it along with my big red pet.

Scatter Shot + Big Red Pet is a dream come true for sure.

Losing the CC immunity is a bummer, but I think that it may end up being a welcome trade-off in the grand scheme of things.

Your damage went up with MM?

Mine actually dropped about 2-3k (I was getting 7-9k on heroic bosses, much more in ICC due to that buff). It's gone up about 1-2k now that I'm getting used to the rotation/priorities, reforged some hit and I've got my glyphs sorted out. Though I am leveling some pets up from 77 still.

I guess that means I dropped about 1k-2k.

Still, I do like the changes. It's a little more involved.

I am finding that MM has increased DPS in those who did not routinely use Volley in their shot rotations, and has decreased DPS in those who used it adeptly.  It's just a learning curve, that's all.  I don't know if that is true for you or not, just merely an observation.  We have a number of hunters in guild, and that is what I'm finding.

PVE.  I do PVP with it, but I am a laughable pvp'er.  I think I enjoy myself too much to get to the level of intent needed for slaughter.  Plus, I know many alliance and they spend their time with me in their sites, and it is just fun for me to screw around.  I am sorry, I wish I could give you better feedback, but I'd rather steer you towards Gar or Tak who both are very adept at PVP.

Gar is focusing on bringing on his BM spec first, then will move to MM and Survival, according to his blog.

I may post a good MM PvP spec soon. I've got the itch to PvP, but I'm not feeling so confident that BM will be the way to go.

It seems casters are insanely OP right now, which makes MM the best bet.

I'm all for sticking with a build and testing it, but I hate getting my ass kicked. BM PvP testing may have to wait. icon_wink

Cool I'm looking forward to it.  I've been pvping with BM and it's not as bad as you might think, but yeah Casters are tough.  I want to try a MM spec for a while. however, and I I'm pretty sure I waisted my free spec on it lol.  I'm a little worried about focus regen in PVP as marks  I hate the thought of having to stand still and steady shot a bunch.  It's really easy to keep your focus up with BM.

Good point. I hadn't yet considered that angle. Things are going to be a little klunky until we get Aspect of the Fox.

Hmm… I don't generally us Volley unless it makes sense to do so; 3+ mobs. I mean boss mobs more than trash. It's hard to gauge DPS vs trash icon_sad

I meant to try it again this evening, but I discovered I had logged out in BM mode and decided to just run with that and try some of the things Garwulf mentioned.

BM has THE best focus regen hands down. I'm not a big fan of PvPing as BM. I always feel "lacking" when my pet gets killed as BM. So, I haven't really test BM in PvP since the patch.

As MM though I've been using some different tricks. When kiting someone I use multi-shot alot since you can move while shooting. Concussive shot or frost trap to slow them and get off one or two quick steady shots, which regen me enough focus to get some more multis off.

I kited and killed a Prot Warrior several times today in WG by kiting her around. I was never able to kill a Prot before the patch.
