Hi!

I think I have big problems with my hunter, Iam playing MM and think I follow a good rotation. Iam trying to stack as much arp as possible, this may be the problem, should I stack agility instead of arp, because I have to bad gear. Can you take a look a my talents, gear and stats and try to give me some answers.

Last time a raid was yesterday, it was the boss dream walker and I was only pusing about 3.5 – 4k.

My rotation: huntersmark, serpentsting, chimerashot, aimedshot, steadyshot and killshot when boss is under 20%. sometimes I also use vipersting instead of serpentsting to get some mana.

First suggestion I can give you Strownia, drop the three points you have in the increased range talent and max out improved tracking as well as survival instincts.  That will help you out.

I haven't had a chance to look at your gear yet, but I'm a bigger advocate of the agility and agility/crit gems than I am of the ArP gems.  ArP effects auto shot, steady shot, aimed shot, silencing shot, and kill shot.  where as agility effects every shot.  take it for what you will, but that should help you make your decision.

also, basing your DPS off of dream walker is actually not a good fight to judge that.  dream walker is a healing intensive fight where usually as a hunter your job is to worry about the blistering zombies that blow up or something to that effect.  it's not a DPS race fight.

your rotation is pretty much normal, but you need to make sure you're using silencing shot, it's recommended that you macro it in to one or all of your shots.

my computer is being slow, so it doesn't look like i'm going to get to look at your gear right now.  so my last piece of advice, watch your movement and timing.  most of our DPS as hunters comes from auto shot, you can't auto shoot if you're moving all the time.  and for timing, watch for your improved steady shot proc's and make sure you're using them on chimera shot as much as possible, and if it's not possible then you're using them on aimed shot at the very least.

ok, I'll look at your gear later and try to give you some advice there, hope this stuff helps…

Switch your Chimera Shot glyph for Serpent Sting, serpent sting is not an optional glyph for MM, it is 100% required.

As Helz said, drop Hawk Eye, max out Imp Tracking and Survival Instincts, drop one point from Focused Aim, as you have 6% hit from gear, or two points if you have a draenei in your party all the time , you definitely gemmed ArP much to early, you're using the wrong meta gem, and you should have 1 point in rapid recuperation to help with mana issues.

Okey, thank you very much, will try to replace my arp gems with agility gems then, really hope that you can look at my gear later! and give me some advice after you have seen it.

But should I stick with the mm specc or should I start to play as survival?

That's a decision you get to make, it's part of the fun in playing. My advise, once you switch your gems, go dual spec and set up one for MM and the other for SV and then try them both. Since you'll be changing your ArP gems to agility you'll be able to easily swap between the two specs and I think you'll find that the spec you are more comfortable is the one that you'll put out more overall damage and DPS in…

Hi Strow,

Glad to see that you managed to dual spec.  Will be fun for you later on to swap between the two and see how you feel about both.  I second the agi + agi/crit gem recommendation, and tuck the +10 All Stats gem into your pants to proc the Relentless Earthsiege meta game which you should also grab to replace your crit gem that is in there now.

If you can run H FOS repeatedly to get the Needle Encrusted Scorpion, it's a good upgrade for your Mirror of Truth.

Keep an eye on your hit rating with gear.  I see you have compensated with the 2 points in FA.  I'm a gear girl, and would rather spend those two points elsewhere, and am wondering what you have for frost and triumph at this point?

Have you tried SV? and how do you like it?
