So as a new wow player I of course decided to level a BM hunter first icon_razz and have recently hit icon_eek (yay!). For the past few days I've been running instances and heroics now I've got the hang of roughly what to do for each one and I'm wondering if anyone would be nice enough to give me some advice regarding gear, like what to spend justice points on etc. as it's all a little overwhelming. Would be greatly appreciated!

(this is a copy and paste from another post of mine,  but it suit the build)

Well don't worry too much about jumping up there.   A few good pieces would be nice to start leveling in 18 days.   But here is the criteria you would need,  now and for awhile.  =D

 

We now have Mail Specialization so always go for Mail. 

 

Stats to look for 

-Hit (up to 246 or 8%)

-Agility

-Mastery (come Cata)

-Crit

-Haste

Other useful stats that will just be on our gear 

-Stamina

 

Stay away from

-Strength

-Intellect

-Spirit

-Expertise 

 

Justice points can get you a good set of epic gear.   Possibly your t10 shoulder and chest for you 2 set *which will be nice for leveling) 

I can't remember the names of the other gear on the 264 guy,  but if you look for those stats you will be set! 

 

-Enchants can include attack power for a stat also.   But the only way in game right now is to gem, enchant,  aspect of the hawk =D.
