Explosive shot takes agro from pet?

I use Timber (Wolf) as my main pet when i go leveling. Just recently started to use Survial and i must say, my dps has increased a lot since then. But my question is when i level alone and have my pet tank, my explosive shot seems to always take agro from it. Is this meant to happen?

I usually go for explosive arrow first then black arrow and serpent sting. And when i shot my second explosive arrow i get the agro and the mobs comes after me. I use misdirection to counter this but the cooldown wont allow me to use it everytime.

Any suggestions?

Well there are a few things to tell ya here =D

Were a wolf is a great DPS pet, and imo a decent all around pet. There are for sure better tanking/soloing pet's out there.

Bears

Rhinos

Garillas

Also Explosive shot is a high aggro-high crit shot, so where it's not ment to be a taunt.. to open up with it while your pet hasn't had time to build aggro, you are almost always going to pull off of it. Let the pet sit on a mob/npc for 2-3 Sec before you open up.

Last few things, make sure growl is on while soloing, just remember to turn it off during dungeons/raids. (I will admit I have been guilty of this, Kiara (my wolf) has been know to tank a few ads on Lady D in her time). Utilizing that MD is a good thing! But don't forget about Feign Death if you are still pulling after all that. These few changes will be more then enough to help you with soloing or leveling.

Thanks! That really helped. But now im going to play BM for a while as i just caught a spirtbeast bear and it looks too nice for me to go survival hahaha. But Your post really helped me thankyou.
