Well guys, I just got some nice shiny new gear pieces, but have run into a new problem… Hit deficit!
I picked up the herkuml war token, the exalted icc ring, and the 25man icc staff distant land. But dropping the mark of supremacy for the war token AND my old polearm for the new staff put me way under hit cap @ 176. I am running icc 10 and 25 every week now, is it better to wait til I get something new with more hit before equiping the war token, or is there a better way to makeup the hit in the meantime? I doubt I should be running ICC that far under cap, correct?

Ahhh…. that's who all my hit is coming from… Your gems and enchants are a beautiful thing, but to be so far from hit… no matter how hard and fast your dps is, you will be missing hits if you… well… miss on hit. You have some gorgeous items; what about respec'ing back into Focused Aim?
On the flip side, I am ridiculously over hit capped, in my gear, from ICC10 runs. Took one nit to slap over 100 extra points on. As for backpedaling to Mark of Supremacy, I think I'd hit a test dummy to see if that would work for me or not. My hunch is Herkumi/FA is going to be the way to go with your gear.

Take those three points you have in Improved Hunter's Mark and put them into Focused Aim. You're just a tad over 5% right now, so 3/3 in FA will have you all set.

Another option you have, not as reliable as changing your talents, but still works. You're alliance, how often do you raid with a dranei? if you raid with a dranei all the time, you'll be able to make up your hit deficit by eating the +40 hit food.

TBH I don't know if there is always a Dranei in the group… I mean it's pretty likely in 25, but the 10's.. I just don't know. I did go make some hit food, because I was panicing! lol. There is another hunter with much better gear than me that has joined our 25man, so i'm not the only one there now, but in the 10 man I AM the only hunter… giving up IHM won't be a drag for the 10 man grp? I hear ICC gear has a buttload of hit in the grand scheme of things, so if I give up IHM it could just be a temporary thing I assume, til I get another piece with hit?

IHM isn't really that necessary. Unless you're the unfortunate one who's been asked to spec it for 25 mans, I would stay away from it.
It only benefits you and other hunters. Hunter's Mark doesn't buff melee attack power, nor does it boost spell damage.
The only place I would steal a point from for IHM would be Focused Aim, provided you reach the hit cap via gear.

If you reach the hit cap and don't need that one point in FA, then drop it down into IHM.
Taking consumables to make up for hit, that you can otherwise talent, is not a good idea. You'll benefit more from 40 agility food and a point in FA than you would from 40 hit food and one point in IHM.

Cool, thanks for the info! I spec'd FA (I assume the % from FA does NOT reflect on the character sheet?), as a result I didnt notice any loss in DPS or overall dmg so the IHM wasnt really doin anything for me I guess! I didn't notice any misses either, so problem solved…yay! And now the goal is to reach cap with gear again, so I can reinvest those points into improved barrage.
I had always relied on the fish feast, or mega mammoth… I should be using Agi food?? Darn… farming here I come lol. TYVM

The difference between the 
AP food and 40 agility is pretty minimal for MM – at least last I checked it was. For SV, it's Blackened Dragonfin all the way, but for MM, I think either one is fine.
To be sure though, plug your toon into femaledwarf and see what sort of DPS change occurs when you switch food buffs.

Malice, I swear by either ap or agi food. I see a little more out of my blackened dragonfin. No, the percentage does not get directly reflected in that percentage, but you have to constantly remember.
I love fishing. So much fun to hang out with guildies and just fish and cook and chat. It's a lot of fun. We'll be doing that tonight during our hunter hangout.

OMG I HATE fishing lol… soooo boring, especially since it's on my raiding toon, and her guild isnt all chatty like my "family" guild is lol. But I did go fish some, and i'm not sure there was a difference, but i'll put it in female dwarf and see what it says.
I lucked out the other night and got Zod's (awesome!) and band of the bone colossus which added 54 hit, so i was able to take 2 points back out of FA and throw em into improved barrage. Haven't raided since so i'm not real sure what i'm up to yet, but I smoked some heroics tonight! lol pushing a 5900 gearscore now and even my husband (a SUPERNERD mage) is proud w00t!
This toon is finally gettin there and tho I have always enjoyed playing her, I now LOVE playing her again and my dk tank is seriously taking a backseat!

Yes, agi food is a SLIGHT dps increase. Worth it if I have it on hand, but the fish feast is good too in a pinch. I'm VERY happy with my gear and spec now (5911 gs after picking up the whispering fanged skull last night w00t!). Only new question I have now is… how much ArP SHOULD a MM strive for?? I got bitched out by a guildie last night for not having atleast 0 ArP!! I'm at 424 now… he screamed that it's waaay too low for MM. I just said "ty for the tip, i'll make a mental note" and ignored him for the rest of the run as he was getting on my nerves lol. So, is it true, I should be working towards 0 ArP? And how in hell does that happen without gemming for it? I mean i'm pulling 8-9k dps in 10 man and up to 10k in 25man (hit 25k on trash omg lol that was fun to see). Do I really need 0 ArP? Does it make THAT much of a difference in the grand scheme of things? He swore his BFF was a "numbers" guy and that as a MM hunter he can pull 15k with 0+ ArP… good for him right? LOL

Malice, my arpen is around 250 to 300 with a GS gear score in the mid 5k's. I am also htting around 7-9k dps, single target, as an agility hunter. When i'm on dancing target duty and my daughter is tugging on my arm to get her hair braided.
If you work towards 0 arpen, that is the threshhold to start gemming changing your spec for it. Please please please read Gar's guide. 99 out of 100 people I know, including hunters, toss armor penetration around like it's the end all and be all. on paper, and at the top tier of raiders, it works. For the vast majority of the general public, myself included, there are better options. To me, you seem like you are right where you should be.
And remember, a slight dps increase is an increase in your damage per SECOND. Over a 3 hour raid, if you are alive and killing for most of it, that's a lot of damage in the overall raid.

I did reread Gar's guide a few weeks ago, at the orginal posting of this thread, and had determined that ArP wasnt important enough for me to worry about at this point. I was looking over some of the higher lvl ICC and upper T10 token pieces and noticed a lot of them have tons or ArP on em. So I will just wait til I start gettin near that 0 mark with gear before I even think of this subject again! I enjoy advice, but I really wish some folks would just leave well enuff alone…. atleast wait til after a raid to bring it up LOL. Geez!
Just out of curiosity I went to femaledwarf last night and set ALL my agi gems to ArP, just to see what it would say… umm a whole 21dps increase? Yea, so not worth the trouble lol.

I have found that Raid Time is the perfect time to interrupt Niika with:
1 – Guild Invites… No worries, have to do this too, since most of the officers are also in a raid somewhere.
2 – This One did This, and That One Did That… Honey, please work it out between you two, or I'm locking you in a random together until you work it out.
3 – Why Did So-And-So Get Promoted… Well, he had a corehound and could prove it. It's not titles in our guild, it's trust. Get one, and I don't want to talk to you about how authenticated accounts can be hacked. At least, not until Lady Deathwhisper has slithered her last breath under my arrows and all the blood beasts have been spanked to death.
4 – I am bored… Then get off the computer and toss a ball around. Or kill something. In game please, real life blood is sticky, it smells, and trust me, it stains.
4 – My Teacher Sucks… Just wait, kid, until you get out of school, and the dirtbag you work for will be far worse than all the closet-drinking math teachers you've ever had.

When i'm farming… nothing. All is quiet. Hit the front gates of the Citadel, and all hell breaks loose.
