I've enjoyed reading all the advice that's been given on this site. You experienced hunters should be commended for your generosity in helping to shape the future hunters of WOW and point them in the right direction.

Now, as I'm approaching icon_eek,  it's my turn to step up to the plate and put myself out there for comments and suggestions. I'm a level 76 BM using a Core Hound as my pet. I plan on bagging Skoll as soon as I hit icon_eek.

I have really enjoyed the leveling experience, and use it as a way to prefect my decision making, shot selection, use of traps, and controlling my pet. I eagerly await icon_eek when the REAL fun begins. Dungeons are my biggest attraction. I do several randoms a day and i'm always disappointed with my dps ranking within the group, usually around 16.5%. Also interested in raiding.

I just got dual spec and will probably go with SV.

I know I cant learn to be a good hunter overnight. That will come in time. At least I can put myself in a better position to be "Good" by getting your advice on my gear. Here ya go…..

For some reason my specs above don't show the enchantments that I already have:

Chest  +8 all stats

Bracers +38 attack power

Gloves +20 agility

Boots +16 agility

Thank You,

Slugbait

Dork.  You forgot to tell the lad he made front page news.

Here ya go, Bait.  Gar wrote you up on the front page. http://huntsmanslodge.com/7869…..a-mile.htm

I'm going to chime in and second the notion to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE level thy tradeskills, huntsman!  No sense picking up a lovely skill like Fur Lining if you don't level yourself to using it.  And we girls love fur linings!  DO EET!

Hey Niika! thanks for the heads up. Do I offically have "rockstar" status now? Well…. maybe not, but I guess it's time for me to put up or shut up now, eh? lol

Point taken on improving my skills. I'm working on it, thanks!

Cheers,

Sluggie

Btw – in another thread someone mentioned an addon that will show me shot rotation. Anyone know the name? Can I get it through Curse.com?

Thanks,

Slug

I use the addon "Watcher" to help with shot priority. I love it and recommend it.

My ongoing pursuit of excellence continues…  I have upgraded my gear, smoothed out my shot rotation so I'm not just frantically mashing buttons like my hair is on fire. It's more of a controlled chaos as I gain confidence and patience waiting for my cool downs.

My current armory link is below. The 2 and 4pc T9 bonus is huge! As always suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm over the hit cap and I'm pretty sure my selection of trinkets, especially the dreaded Mark Of Supremacy, has alot to do with that. The vendor trinkets and drops haven't been anything to get excited about lately.

I'm actively working on my professions but leather working is pretty boring for me, but i'm working on it a little at a time.

Btw – My current guild is dead! Any tips on a good raiding guild in Nazgrel who might be open to a new guy would also be greatly appreciated. I haven't had much luck lately getting accepted into 10/25 man raids, but I'm eager to learn, believe in the "team" concept, and follow directions well. My current activity is spamming the heroic randoms with a few bg's mixed in.

Hi Slug,

You do look like you've made strides!  Impressive!  Try and get into I think PoS and get the Needle Encrusted Scorpion to replace that MoT and move hit into something that might benefit you a bit more.

As for looking for a new guild, there is another thread about looking for a new guild in one of the other threads with plenty of options.  We are just a few weeks before the release of a major expansion, so it might be difficult to find a truly hard-core raiding guild looking for what you have to offer.  It might be easier to look for a larger guild with room to grow, which is very active, rather than strictly raiders, which offers a very different mindset.  Just a thought…

Looks to me like your doing great with gear choices and such. Sometimes gear drops just don't cooperate and you have to run with what you get. I ran for awhile way over hit cap like you are right now, because hit rating gear was all that dropped for me. Keep at it and eventually you will get it brought down.

Lookin' good Slug.

A couple quick suggestions…

You're 137 hit rating over the cap, so you don't need those points in Focused Aim.

For your SV build: Drop those 3 points and put one into Aimed Shot and the other two in Noxious Stings. Also, pull one point from Hunting Party and put it into Noxious Stings as well.

You should look like this when you're done: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#…..0cIhedAhsd

For your BM build: I'd suggest just moving those 3 points from FA into Improved Arcane Shot, or into Improved Tracking.

Another thing you should do is run Regular ToC for the http://www.wowhead.com/item=47214.

Using this instead of MoS will actually boost your DPS right now, and it's pretty easy to get. Plus, you can farm for it all day if need be.

Anyway… keep up the good work my hunter bretheren! icon_biggrin
