OfflineHello all professional hunters. Agio the Inept Newb Level 81 here. Recently with the help of Gar I have started the conversion to using mouse entirely for movement and keybinds, main goal eventually the PvP area with a new toon. Right now it's a bit of a trainwreck , okay a total one.
I'm struggling with finding enough damn keys to bind the stuff I need. I am starting to love macros though. So do all of you have 10 fingers on your left or right hand? If not, please offer some tips please.
Right now I play entirely solo and am playing in Twilight and Uldum as it allows practice on single mobs while I figue this out I'm trying to get comfortable. I use a basic keyboard and mouse.
Currently I'm working around the WASD set up, Tab Target, Caplock-assist pet, W-Pet Attack, QE strafe, A-Hunters M, D-Serpent Sting, Z Auto Run, R-kill shot(dunno just times well for me) F All in one Pet Macro. C-Backwards, Spacebar-jump(that combo works well as I hit em pretty much at the same time. Right now the bindings aren't critical as the mobs drop fairly fast n the pet holds aggro but as I move to PVP and solo 5 mans they're gonna be so best get the help now.
Shot rotation and other stuff I'm using the # keys but after getting to 5 my head explodes. 1 Arc, 2 Kill Command 3-Cobra, 4 Steady, 5-feign D, 6-Disengage. Have a couple traps and abilities in 7-0 but honestly I end up still clicking them.
The thing is , how do you MOVE and fire shots etc without 10 fingers? Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Binding things to letter keys, using additional bars with shift/ctr/alt modifiers, I have around 48 keybinds, and I use quite a few of them, well 48 not including my mount keybinds :3
Hmmmm….. So, It's not just an adventure..it's a job! Do you use your toes too? ![]()
I need a foot keyboard.

Another option (if you can spend the cash) is to go out and get a Belkin nostromo n52 SpeedPad (or newer model)
You can program it any way you like and it's fairly simple. I have strafe and forward bound to the directional pad, and "`" (tilde) through "=" programmed to the buttons. There are 16 buttons and a clickable scroll wheel along with directional pad controls. It also has 4 modes (normal, red, blue, and green) if you have a multi-button mouse, it gets even easier as you can map the extra buttons to Shift, Ctrl, or Alt and use macros based on modifiers. After a couple days playing like this, you'll only need a real keyboard to chat. I only do PvE, but having all those keys close together should up reaction times noticably for PvP. Hope this helps.

OfflineHi there.
I'm an altophile, so t keep me from losing my head I try to set up all my toons the same.
F1 Blow Cooldowns macro
F2 Secondary cooldown or situational shot (Tranq Shot)
F3 Primary cooldown (Bestial Wrath/Black Arrow) or damage proc (eg Kill Command)
F4 Either a heal or health buff or on hunter Misdirection
F5-8 secondary skills
F9-12 Rarely used skills except for hunter F7-F11 Traps F12 Launcher easy to click on or use key (I mainly click on traps)
1 least used attack key (Hunter's mark)
2 either a follow up action or a minor proc (Kill command/Explosive Shot)
3 Main spam (Cobra Shot/Steady Shot)
4 Main Proc (Kill Shot)
5 Minor AOE or secondary attack
6 secondary attack
7 to = minor or situational attacks
Q Defensive move (Feign Death)
W Forward Movement
E Racial ability or secondary interupt or Freeze Trap for hunter
R Main interupt
T Main AOE
Y Primary CC (Wyvern Sting for hunter)
A Strafe left (SHIFT=turn Left)
S Disengage (SHIFT=move backwards)
D Strafe right (SHIFT= turn right)
F Cleansing type spell
G Mount
H Hearth
Z Health Buff
X Mana Buff (Hunter = Aspect control)
V Utility Key (Lay on Hands for Pally, Mend Pet for hunter, evocate for mage etc)
This is how I do it, but just do what works for you. Remember to keep your most used attacks in some logical pattern so it makes sense to your hand… muscle memory is important so train your hands by practice.
