Hay guise lol! =)

Ever since Gar and Garxz posted their BM PvP builds, I've been working hard to try and integrate both of their methods into my playstyle. Originally I ran with Gar's build for quite a while, enjoying the extra 10 focus for myself and my pet. But I found I needed a bit more burst at level icon_eek+ and so decided to try out Garxz's. In the end, I sort of made a combination of both.

Here is my current build:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/ch…../secondary

I found that Killing Streak procs a lot more often than I thought. Looks like I need more Agi on my gear…lol.

My glyphs aren't complete, but I'm divided over whether I should keep Glyph of Serpent Sting in the Prime slots, or replace it with Glyph of Kill Shot so I can down those pesky Rogues, Disc Priests and Ret Palas when they do their mitigation thing. Also, I feel I should replace one of my Major Glyphs with Glyph of Deterrence, and I feel the candidate for removal is Glyph of Disengage. Or should I overhaul them altogether and choose Conc Shot, Bestial Wrath and Deterrence for my Majors?

Finally, there's the question of Improved Serpent Sting. I took it for enhanced sustained DPS on my targets but I found my SS keeps getting cleansed when a healer is nearby. Should I drop it and put the points in Pathing instead?

Thanks!

The last I knew the Kill Shot glyph wasn't working right. The effect doesn't kick in like it is supposed to.

I would think keeping Disengage over Deterrance a better choice as its all about keeping your distance as a Hunter.

Some Hunters go with Concussive Shot glyph, some don't. Personally I do, but I do a lot of flag carrier hunting, so it works well for me.

I run with Serpent Sting glyph. Even if it does get cleansed a lot, the times it does spend helps out.

I recommend getting Scare Beast for a minor. It helps with those nasty druids. I get a small thrill from fearing them.Wink

I've changed my build some and am quite happy with it…

I adopted some of Garxz's talent choices and found the trade-offs to be worth it.

I'll be posting about it at some point, but the above screenshot shows what I've got going on now.

You've already done what I would have suggested and found a way to include Improved Mend Pet. I have always found the extra 10 focus from Kindred Spirits to be worth while, and I choose that over Survival Tactics. You could also ditch Focus Fire and Ferocious Inspiration if you would rather keep Entrapment, I hate being focus starved, but that's me.

Cheers,

D

Thanks for the feedback, all. =D

@ Tak: Re: Serpent Sting glyph, I found it does help improve my sustained DPS on the marked target. I think I'm running with it, same with Disengage. With 2 points in Survival Tactics and CTHC, I can have my Disengage every 16 seconds, which is a boon. My only worry is being mobbed by 3+ players with my teammates CC'ed or otherwise out of action. Often I found that Deterrence saved my hide in those times, hence why I thought to get the glyph. Doesn't help that I'm probably the worst defensive Hunter player around though.

@ Gar: I see you're now running with Focus Fire/Killing Streak and took away points in Go For The Throat for Mend Pet and Entrapment. I'd like to see your writeup sometime about it, I stuck 2 points in GFtT for insurance since I had encountered moments when I can't RoS or Spirit Mend due to my pet being focus starved, like in one of your blog entries. But I think Focus Fire would handle that for you as well.

@ Darrwyn: I understand the boon of Kindred Spirits too. I'm actually missing the 110 focus, but as Garxz noted, since we'll be often under 100 focus in the middle of a fight, I thought to ditch it for a while and stick to 100 to train myself in managing Focus. I'm a bit 50/50 on Focus Fire, though…while Garxz noted that it helped him get Cobra Shots off faster, I found I didn't use it as much as I'd hoped. Maybe a change in hotkey assignments needs to be in order before I say anything further about it.

Let me see…

When a Warrior starts coming toward you do you…

                  a. Backpedal

                  b. Disengage to gain distance

                  c. Stand and fire until his chest hits your nose?

When a Death Knight grabs you with Death Grip do you…

                  a. Hit your trinket and start making like the road runner

                  b. Hit trinket and calmly disengage

                  c. Yell, "Yeeeehaaaaaaah!"

When a Frost Mage freezes you in place, do you…

                a. Hit Trinket and Disengage

                b. Hit trinket and commence firing

                c. Say Brrrrr and start firing?

When a feral druid or a rogue attacks you from stealth do you…

               a. Hit Deterrence

               b. Hit Disengage, health pot and Hunter's Mark

               c. Scream "Bastard!" and Wing Clip till he dies?

If you answered C to all of these scenarios, you are as defensively minded as I am!

Re Focus Fire… As I don't use it, I'm not up on it, but prior to 4.2 I used to have it in all my macros as it wasn't on the GCD. Check on Wowhead (I'm at work and can't get that site….damn government!) to see if it's still off the GCD.

Cheers,

D

Thanks all!

Based on what Gar posted and what the others noted, I tweaked my build around a bit. I found my pet isn't as focus starved in this build as I thought it would be, allowing me to get off Intervenes, RoS's and whatever else I may need at the moment.

I only keep forgetting about Focus Fire a lot. I'll still keep it around if I ever get into an Arena, but if it doesn't work out I may need to just put the talent in Improved Mend Pet.

@ Darr: Actually I'm the type to scream "GET OFF ME" in those situations, usually ending up with lots of traps on the floor and me dead because the Warrior Bladestormed through them, but eh.

@ Tak: Good idea. Although I don't know which button to put it in, I think I ran out of buttons…
