I was just sniffing around ebay as I’ve been known to do, and I saw the original World of Warcraft Collector’s Edition going for four figures..?! Maybe I’m missing something here, but I never thought of video game software as a premium collector’s item. I know the Mini-Diablo pet has got to be the coolest non-combat pet in the game, but $1,800.00?! I can see the allure for vintage arcade kiosks, cocktail tables and even home console games like Atari and Intellivision, but this is nutso.
Being that the opened ones in mint condition are selling for less than 1/6th of the price of an unopened one, that makes the Mini-Diablo, Pand Cub or Zergling worth about $1,300-$1,500 by my estimation. Anyone who had the foresight to pick up a dozen or so of these is sitting on a small fortune.
