Introducing… Gondria, The New Spirit Beast

I just peeped this on MMO Champion. There’s another rare exotic Spirit Beast in the game that is prowling around in Zul’Drak on the Patch 3.1 PTR.

Gondria is a new level 77 Spirit Beast with all of the same skills as Loque’nahak. The mob is also neutral, so it will not attack until you try taming it. The skin is like King Bangalash with glowy eyes. Gondria is also semi-transparent when not prowling, just like the Ghost Sabers.

In my opinion, the skin is not quite as attractive as Loque’nahak’s. However, it’s going to offer BM Hunters a choice, as well as cutting down on the competition for Loque. I like this addition, and I think it would be exciting if more Spirit Beasts started popping up in future patches. They’d all have to be rare and possess one-of-a-kind skins though.

Imagine a black lion skin like Humar’s, but with glowing red eyes and mouth… No, wait a minute… a black tiger skin with red stripes! Also, the stripes would begin to glow near the head much like Loque’s markings. Oh… and the Spirit Strike would shoot from its eyes like laser beams! …and the… err… nevermind. I’ll stop now.

So far the only confirmed spawn location for Gondria is at: 63.2, 42.7.

Thx for credits. I felt it was a good thing to share the news among other hunters as I really… really loved the way I discovered, hunted and tamed Loque’Nahak. This time was my turn and I was glad to give some infos about a new toy for our class

You must have been pretty excited seeing this new pet for the first time. I know I would have freaked out if I’d discovered a brand new tameable rare exotic.

Thanks for sharing the experience with the Hunter community.

I wasn’t sure I’d find the time, but I’m copying over to the ptr today. Hopefully I’ll be able to join in on the fun later tonight. I’m not sure if I’ll get a glimpse of Gondria in game, but at least I’ll be able to check out all of the Hunter goodness in store for BM, including the new pet talents.

I wont tame this one as I already have Loque (I like it much more, to be honest). But it’s a valid alternative for those who lost weeks looking for Loque

I feel the same way, although I imagine Gondria will be harder to get at first. Everyone will be after this new enigmatic pet. Hopefully Gondria spawns in more than one spot or else it’ll be nearly impossible to tame within the first few weeks. That spot will be camped heavily.

I’ve taken a trip or two around Zul’Drak hoping to get lucky and spot him in a new location. Fun stuff. I love this hunting business.

Well Gratz for BM’ers Unfortunately I wont be able to tame this beauty for two reasons … First is becauser I enjoy being SV and second coz I cant get rid of my lovely Tiger “Pam” who I lived and died with since I started playing wow

I admire the fact that you’ve managed to keep the same pet all this time. The curse of BM is that your pet is so important, you have to roll with the changes that Blizzard makes to stay competitive.

I feel sort of bad for the Hunters that may have abandoned their cats during that brief feline nerf intermission before Blizz gave them Rake.

I tamed Gondria on the Naralex server.

The server has quite a low population, so rush in there and try to get Her.

She appeared around 1am GMT.

I tamed Gondria a few days ago on brill EU i already had loque in the stable so its nice to be able to compare them both ^^.

Well, I think we have the common theme here, anyway. If there are Icepaw Bears around, Gondria’s a likely spawn. I checked out all the places i’ve heard of spottings, and they all have the same thing going for them: Icepaw Bears. So…if you find the bears, it’s a good bet that’s a likely spawn point for Gondria.

Way to go Arinvar! The couple of you who’ve posted here saying that you tamed on Gondria on patch day are pretty damn lucky. I’d imagine the competition for him is going to be very steep in the coming weeks.

Yeah, i got him earlier aswell. 2nd on my server, 1st was taken by guild master at the opposite spawn point to me. Camped him for 25hours before this beauty landed right in my lap…still haven’t got a name for him yet so people assume ive just called my pet spirit beast.

Tamed Gondria on US Thunderhorn. WOOT! There was tons of hunters in the air looking lol. He spawned right near the Alter of Har’koa.

I tamed Gondria on Dath re’mar between 8pm and 8:10 pm server time at the 63.2, 42.7. I had been camping for this guy for three days. I couldnt beleive my eyes when I turned the corner of the stairs and he spawned in front of me.

Congratulations to all you lucky Hunters who managed to get Gondria in the past week. I just saw him for the first time last night, and he looks pretty freakin awesome. The screenshots don’t do him justice. He’s so much more impressive in person due to that bitchin aura he has whisping around him.

I finally got him, after reading all your post camped out for 2 days at 63,42 logged on at 2pm and not even 3 mins later, he spawned right in front of me no bears, stone guys in front laid trap and distract shot..(Yelling at my taming spell to hurry before another hunter appeared).. and got my new pet shadow… hooray for dual spec.!!!!!

I think I’ve been amazingly lucky over the last week. Decided to go Dual SV/BM spec (Raid/Grind), as I’d longed to get back to BM. Anyways, to cut a long story short, I’ve managed to grab Gondria and Loque in recent days. I was looking, but not camping. I was ready, and indeed they found me!

Anyways, I prefer the appearance of Gondria. Having him strut his stuff over the snow is a sight to behold. Not that Loque is unpleasant, of course. And boy, was it good to get rid of “Cuddles the Annoying Core Hound. Loque and Gondria are both now stabled alongside “Fluffy the PvP Spider”, “Moggie the Raiding Wolf” and “Kitty the Grinding Bear”. All I need now is a name for each of them! Fido and Rover are favourites right now…

I flew the circuit yesterday after the game came back up to look for Gondria, tried for two hours (day three of looking for her), logged off because I had to work. I decided to log back on a little before 9:00 p.m. server time, knowing I would have no luck, but thinking it would be a great 14th anniversary present if I found her (I had no luck at all finding Loque). She was right under me, around 78, 71. I couldn’t believe it. An adrenaline rush is not good for me…it stopped my brain. I almost died because a bear hit my trap before Gondria did and broke out of the trap before I finished taming her, but all worked out and no one else was in the area. She is mine….now to figure out a good name for her.

Grats on Gondria and Loque! That’s nuts that you were able to get both in the same week. Gondria is definitely more striking when viewed live and in-game, than via screenshots.

I just found this snazzy cat while flying through to do my dailies! Instant abandon Byron (my black wolf, sorry, I will miss you) and tamed Gondria. She was wandering peacefully around on a ledge on the left side of that blue crater up against the wall(not fully awake, place-names are overrated). There were some trollies nearby, but they’re easy-pie to avoid.

GL to all of you, my fellow hunters and huntresses, wanting to tame her, and /salute to the ones that already count her as their companion! <3

Hello, I finally found this cat near Zim Torga around 9:45 ST on Dentarg. BUT when I was taming her a nasty alliance rogue was in the area and decided he would jump me. He killed me and Gondria. Well, of course this made me want to cry for days considering I had waited. My next hunt would be easier b/c at least I knew where she would spawn. I decided to download an npcscan mod from a wow site. You have to manually key in her name and npc number i think its 33776 something like this. Anyway, this scan will help and when she is anywhere in the area it will alarm you. So you can quest while your waiting. Remember, you have to have 51 pts. in BM to tame. Also, your scan may pick up other peoples pets that have already caught her. SO GOOD LUCK!

Thanks a million, Dude, for having this info available. After reading that there was only one confirmed sighting, at 63.2,42.7 I flew to those co-ords and there was Gondria, waiting for me on the ground. Of course there was a bear there too, but I landed, threw out a freezing trap, and started channeling. Of course the bear attacked, I scared him away, and Gondria had gotten free and was attacking. I started channeling again, the bear got over the scare beast and started attacking me again too. I kept up the channeling tho, and just as both of them killed me, he was mine. I’m so darned excited, I’m usually not lucky at all, and he was just walking around, and nobody else anywhere close. When you tame him, his name changes to Spirit Beast, so I renamed him to match his new Masters name. I named him “Nitespirit”, and I’m on Staghelm server, if anyone wants to check him out closer. His Spirit Strike looks AWESOME!!

I’ve been camping for this cat for over 8 days and as of early this am i was about to give up..Flew my circuit of known spawn locations and at 2:41am server time, There he was!!! only problem, he was smack dab in middle of a gaggle of icepaw bears…popped tracking for humans didnt see anyone. cleared out bears, abandoned pet and set down freezing trap. Just clicked tame beast when a level 79 horde troll hunter showed up.. Paniced big time, but i was surprised when he continued to allow me to tame. Got my beautiful new cat after many hours and days of camping. He spawned at 71.1, 71.1 for me.

Good luck to those that are still seeking this cat. Its worth the wait.

Captured Loque about a week ago , took about a month (wow).Saw Gondria with another Hunter and wanted her immediately if not sooner . Did some homework downloaded “-npcscan” from wowmatrix , caught Gondria on the second day of my search woot !!!! Im on the “Bladefist” server.

Complete coincidence, had just done some Naxx and went to Dalaran to repair and stock up on ammo, and bam, there were 3 other Gondria’s stood around plus mine.

You notice the guy at the top right running away with shame as I stopped and lol’d at all the Gondria clustered together.

tamed her at around 6:22 server time in Barthilas, at coordinates 69.4, 47.8. been searching for her for around 5 hours, checking the spawn points for her and spamming my macro whenever i see a yellow dot on my map. went to the above coords as a last check before logging-in my dk for some dailies then saw the yellow dot on my mini-map, freeze-trapped her then tamed her, no problems at all! its easy to tame her esp as m the only one looking for her, the problem’s the spawn time and in finding her. good luck to all hunters looking for her, it’s well worth the effort!

After near constant patrols for almost 2 weeks – I decided to park myself at the “hot” cords 77,70 and signed off after another frustrating search and wait session.

Logging in the next morning at approx 7:11 A.M. (today – Sunday) I was greeted by the screaming red flashing alarm of my Npcscan and Gondria was just steps in front of me!

After dying the first time due to logging in too close to a bear (didn’t see him since I was so excited to find Gondria) who obviously didn’t understand the importance of this moment – I quickly ran back to the spot expecting him to be dead or gone and was thrilled to find him right where I left him.

Started taming and set the Frost Trap and within seconds – he was mine!!

Npcscan is an absolute must for tracking this and other rare pets and Npc’s. Since he’s nearly invisible against the backdrop of snow – NPCscan located him quickly and effortlessly.

Good luck to all of those frustrated hunters out there – keep on plugging and you’ll get lucky too!

After looking for about 2 weeks off and on and today by luck i decide to take quick look before going to work. At about 6:35 Am EST on IceCrown there he was around 69,70 near the entrance to grizzy hills. I started taming (no frost trap)and seconds he was mine and we were in combat with a nearby Frost cat…lol. Oh and NPCscan was great asset to have and it will alert you too. And i made it to work on time.

Ok so i just got her after a day of constant searching. I had put my main on her fast flyer in ZD, and my hunter in another area. Logged my main for a voa and decided to do a fast circuit. Suddenly, npcscan freaks out and there she is, wandering around near the trees by grizzly hills. i freaked, yelled brb in raid chat and logged my hunter. typed /who and i had a bit of competition, so i rushed over to the spot i had just seen her, thinking there was no way she would still be there and she was! I totally forgot how to abandon my pet, and tame the new one, and i was so scared that another hunter would come but they didnt. I feel so lucky, and she is certainly worth it! GL everyone who is still searching

OMFG i caught gondria took 4 days maybe 5 and about 14-15 total hours of hard search then i saw a yellow and red dot took a look a bear and gondria no one was in the area died first time went back bear i killed gondria still there i still havent got loque after 4 days and over 20 hours of search its rough getting him never spawns GONDRIA IS F***ING POWREFUL AND IS A BEUTY TOO LOOK AT AND IS EXTREMELY GOOD PET I FOUND HIM ON THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF WHERE THE BEARS AND FROST LEOPARDS ARE I ALSO SAW IT ON A PALLY IN THE ALTAR OF HER’KOA AND WAS STUNNED COZ I JUST LEFT IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Been camped out for days waiting for Gondria. Almost gave up and around 10pm …boom.. there he was in the corner by the stairs. Dropped in, freeze trap and I have a new pet Happy Hunting to all and don’t give up.

I love ur website.. this site has been my guide along with wowhead, great tips. I really enjoyed being a hunter and i just tamed Gondria today while farming at zul’drak near 76,69
killing icepaw bear, got excited when NPCscan went wild.

I play in a private server.

I have been looking for gondria for about 7 weeks on and off using the info on Wowhead. I was starting to dispair of ever getting her. Then i find Huntsmans Lodge.com
At 11:00 i was reading these comments. At 11:15 i logged into the game to familiarise myself with the co-ordinates. At 11:17, at 69,49 *BANG* this pair of blue glowing eyes is looking at me.
Dismount dragon. Call stabled pet. Abandon cat. Tame beast. WOOT! Hello Dandruff! (that’;s what i called it)

GONDRIA tamed, Khadgar server, March 18, 2010, 11:56pm server time. Appeared at the tree lined spawn point at the Altar of Quetz’lan. Should be noteorthy that the Spinner elite spawned in the same area this morning. I AM SO FRIGGIN HAPPY! Good luck and happy hunting!

I just tamed him 23:44 on hellscream EU in the most eastern spawn site. Only stumbled over this site a few days ago and the info I’ve got has been wonderful, thanks very much.
I gave up on loque because i tried taming 3 times and unfortunately someone came alone and killed (i was only a couple of seconds away on the last try). I will probably try to tame him again, though this guy is pretty beautiful in its own right.
